My dad and his brother were greens keepers here. I lived in the old farm house that was about 30 feet from number seven green, when I was 2-5 yo (1951-1954). I used to sled ride here (across #8 & 12 fairways) with my uncle when I was 7-8yo. My dad and my uncle would let me steer the tractor when they were working as greens keepers and I also rode around the course with the head greens keeper in his pickup truck. I was a Caddie here in 1964-1966. I knew every inch of the course, tractor & equipment shed, the clubhouse and my house on #7. I also knew a lot of the members. I'm 73yo now and when I watch this video I cry.

This was our home course of my HS golf team. Moved away from Pgh in 1992 and just found out about this. Really sad, and so you can add this to Homewood (which at one time was a beautiful neighborhood), East Hills Shopping Center (where my mom took me as a child (in the 1960's), Frankstown Ave, Penn Hills (where my cousins lived in the 1960-70's, and I hear now Monroeville is under the black locust plague of destruction, as the Racquet Club of Pittsburgh is also gone, where I use to be a member. Sad, how this is allowed to go on all over our once so beautiful country.
