Hello sir. Thank you for your sincere and touching comment. I am an active member of the Church but I can definitely understand (and I sometimes share) your frustrations with how some members conduct themselves when they, of all people given their knowledge of the Savior and His Gospel, should clearly know better. Indeed, my grandfather struggled with the hypocrisy of some members so much that he went inactive for the better part of 20 years! Speaking for myself, as I have remained active over the years I have been reminded regularly that most members are truly wonderful, kind and honest people whose association has truly blessed my life. God bless!

I love the guy at 4:39 with tears streaming down his face - about 20 years ago I was on a tour of America (from the UK), and we ended up at Salt Lake City for the night. The tour guide said if anyone was interested, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir was rehearsing that evening and anyone could go. I remember sitting with tears running down my face as the sound of 300-odd voices singing beautiful music washed over me.

Like some who have already commented on the young man at the 4:40 mark who has tears streaming down his face, I, too, have been moved by him. One can only wonder what was going on in his life at that time and it’s really useless to speculate. Suffice it to say, I sense that his tears are real. I visit this video from time to time and I look for him just to make sure he’s still there … and he is. The editor is due praise for retaining these frames in the final mix. In the context of a beautiful building, exquisite arrangements, world class accompaniment, and flawless performances, it is quite special to see one’s heart overflowing in the moment, for whatever reason.

Even as an adult, when I lived with my mother temporarily, we had family prayer every night, and we had scripture study every evening as well. This is the most beautiful arrangement I have ever heard of this hymn. I grew up playing this for our church. I have been an organist since the age of 8 and choral conductor after my college years and find that the simplest of hymns arranged in this fashion can be the most powerful. I was so moved by the young man at 4:39 singing and tears streaming down his face. I have experienced this while performing as a choir member in university as well as playing hymn services through my life. It is wonderful to be able to perform and and still have the heart touched at the same time. Thank you for this absolutely moving piece of music and the reverence with how it was done!

@jennylawson1980, we're sorry to hear about your experience. It can be very hard to forgive people who have hurt us, but God promises that when we forgive others, He will forgive us of our wrongdoings and bring us peace. In addition, when we forgive others, we avoid further pain, heal our spirits and follow the example of Jesus Christ. To learn more, visit www.comeuntochrist.org/articles/forgiveness?cid=email_63785&mid=500169&jid=1197258#ForgiveOthers?cid=42001274. Also, as Elder Cook shared in the April 2020 general conference: "Our heartfelt prayer is that you will join with us in worshipping the Savior of the world. We know that some of you may have received offense, unkindness, or other conduct that is not Christlike. We also know that some have had challenges to their faith that may not be fully appreciated, understood, or resolved. ... regardless of your situation, please know that the Church and its members will welcome you back!" Regardless of your experience, we hope you know you are loved and respected, and that you are always welcome at Church. www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2020/04/52cook?lang=eng

I had an NDE during emergency surgery where I was given a message from heaven that has been a blessing these past 40 yrs. I'd like to share it with you: YOU can do hard things! That is how we progress and become more like our Savior Jesus Christ." Bless you, Eileen

This is one of nearly a dozen recordings of choir music sung at past General Conferences that I have listened to recently (2-5-21), almost as it were by accident. As the pandemic has dragged on and on and while sometimes sitting at home alone, it provides a wonderful immersion of the Spirit to hear such heavenly, inspiring music. The negativity that often pervades the news and social media seems to flee away in the presence of this and other hymns: Did you think to pray? Nearer, my God to Thee. Abide with me, tis eventide. God, be with you til we meet again. I need Thee every hour. Love at home. Be Still, My Soul. What Child is this? Consider the Lillies. O Little Town of Bethlehem. It came upon a Midnight Clear... My deep gratitude to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for making these videos available to any and all, at any time of the day or night, during joyful or sorrowful moments.

1. Ere you left your room this morning, Did you think to pray? In the name of Christ, our Savior, Did you sue for loving favor As a shield today? [Chorus] Oh, how praying rests the weary! Prayer will change the night to day. So, when life gets dark and dreary, Don’t forget to pray. 2. When your heart was filled with anger, Did you think to pray? Did you plead for grace, my brother, That you might forgive another Who had crossed your way? 3. When sore trials came upon you, Did you think to pray? When your soul was full of sorrow, Balm of Gilead did you borrow At the gates of day?

The holy spirit has never let me down. Everytime I needed comfort he was there! There are 4 instances in my life when I was feeling confused with life and God and it made me depressed so I cried out in my heart and immediately I was filled with warmth and comfort! God was letting me know that he was there and none of us are alone at any time. Glory be to God.
