I think you are a wonderful mother with a lot of patience. I will say, kids at this age understand more than people realize. If they're smart enough to know how to climb the slide, they're smart enough to understand the word "no" and when they're doing something they shouldn't. They will test you, push the limit, try it again, but they will understand with consistency. Though they aren't mature enough to know all the reasons why or how to process their emotions (which is why they bite, cry, hit, etc) they can understand your tone, the association of the word no, and the consequences. Kids are so smart and so manipulative. We tend to forget just how smart they are. Plus, we love them, they're cute, sweet, and ours so we make many exceptions. As a mom who has raised multiple children, I know it's tough, but I wanted to give my opinion.. Stay strong. You're doing great!
