Been in martial arts most of my life, and this is the best description/ explanation of “body positioning” I have ever heard. Thank you very much

Subscribed even though my main martial arts are karate, ninjustu, kung fu, judo, dirty boxing. My understanding of aiki is that you align your force (ki) with the opponent's and use it against them. The footwork is one of the main things to do proper aikido and attacking weakest point of opponent's balance.

Yeah I like your approach to aikido, keep breaking down the basics of fight science. In many martial arts the footwork is to aim to position to blindspot or back, what's the main goal for aikido? I have one throw based on aikido principles, what's your take? You brush opponent's left leadhand with your right leadhand, you step in with switch stance step and grab gi of shoulder on opponent's leadhand with your left hand, you pull the gi of shoulder as you step in and grab the the gi of right shoulder with your right hand so you stand almost behind him holding 2 gi of shoulders facing 9 a clock, you spin counter clockwise to 3 a clock and then let go. It should be as one motion. It might actually be an aikido throw, but it something I visualized and tried when doing like kata.

good explanation ... however, it is only relevant when confronted with people who do not practice martial arts ... i.e. ... in most cases ... my English is poor (Google translate help), so I will not describe the unusual movements that are in Aikido spirit, however, not taught in Aikido ... greetings ;) pozdrawiam ;)

[Aikido Techniques] Technique and Philosophy of Tai no Henko: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5jYiayNpq-bmrs paradox ... quite a lot of good explanations in the past in Rokas ... no grounds ... i.e. in the past people starting to practice Aikido already knew how to fight ... the lack of grounds caused that he negated the effectiveness of Aikido at the present time ... I say that Aikido works, but the training method is like practicing techniques in BJJ without sparring, it is like practicing techniques in JUDO without sparring, it is like practicing techniques in MuayTai / KicBoxing / MMA without at least light sparring ... what is the purpose above ?? ... understanding that the technique teaches motion mechanics, so much, just so much or so much ... the technique does not have to be done from A to Z ...

I asked a bluebelt judoka for the common grips in judo he gave me this, now could you make a video where you either break those grips or manipulate and counter with aikido? -sleeve lapel -russian arm and sleeve -lapel and russian arm -double lapel -lapel and armpit grip -mongolian grip
@zegarek840525

why do you want to free yourself from the grip that you can use ... but if you would like to fight for grips, the names mentioned mean the bloody fingers of the controlling person ... the ideal grip is uncontrollable and the tension / projection during the technique does not make the other person feel threats ... the correct use of the grip is when performing the "technique", not sooner, not later ... I practiced Aikido in the past, in the city where I currently live I practice BJJ ... I know what sparring is ... MuayThai I also practiced ...

@@zegarek840525 it can be for various reasons, let's say someone with a weapon grabs you, or multiple opponents. It all depends on situation, and it's good to have in your muscle memory

@@IbrahimKhalil-bt9yh in BJJ they almost don't practice stand up grappling, but sometimes do task stand up sparing... try and don't brake grip, use that grip on white and blue belt, it will be funy... or on Judo sparing session, not on black belt's... i wrote, that i practiced Aikido in past... I understand why someone wants to release the handle, but over time other things are more important ...

Hanmi, Hitoimi, irimi, are the major positions. Chokaku, gyaku and ai, are the ways to vary those positions. Hanchokaku, chokaku, sankaku, Soto mawari, uchi mawari and irimi are the ways to move to those positions.

are you part of any aikido organization? I am trying to pull some strings with Lenny sly, Dan the wolfman, Roy Dean to maybe set up aiki grappling tournament. Lenny sly or rogue warriors said that might be possibility if he had at least around 100 people backing him up. Are you interested or do you know people who would be?

I don't understand what the point of this tournament would be... Anyone who had a bluebelt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu would beat all the Aikido folk who have not studied grappling... And if they have studied grappling then why wouldn't they just compete in that systems tournaments???

@@ChuShinTani Sensei, I was thinking to get the people together and set up aikido rules that would isolate the fighting art, we go through the aikido techniques that are allowed, we strive to get the purest sport version of aikido. I have done research on aikido and find it's ancestry to sumo, daito ryu, and the sibling and nephew are judo and bjj. Having said that there will be similar factors to sumo wrestling, judo and bjj. So we it will mainly be stand up, but stomache hitting the floor will be point, push out from ring.point, pin, point, lock point, nage point. I was thinking we maybe start with isolating the grappling flow aspect of aikido and maybe add in that face push throw semi sumo slap atemi. It would be a huge honor if we had you and your connections onboard.

@@ChuShinTani kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJXPl2WNhLiYars Aikido in sumo Bjj is mainly rolling on the ground, the aikido rules would be minimum on the ground, basically nage and if person struggle with lock more than 3 seconds have them stand up. The thing judo is that I think a true aikidoka should be well aware how to break gi grip and manipulate joints. Would you be interested in supporting to set it up?

@@IbrahimKhalil-bt9yh Aikido is mix of techniques... too many at once, the next problem is the lack of even light sparring ... an example from another field of the present time not related to martial art: create a not very ugly dynamic website with basic animations supported by some server ... the task I set in total can be compared to full car mechanics with varnish ... or a complex construction of a house with electricity, etc. ... similar topics and yet ... and yet sometimes such people are found, it's easier to work with them ... however what baggage of knowledge do you have to carry ?? ... and why brake grip... i wery like trow beginers on stand up BJJ class even no gi by theyr's hard grib... it is more trick than technique but work on beginers muscle persons... i also trained basic calistenic...
