That Track was released exactly on my 61th birthday. I do very much love the arabic touch. You can see belly dancers dance to your solos. Seems to come straight from 1001 nights. Great stuff. I learned how to get that sound in my own chord progressions from this. Very much appreciated.

The fact that you actually play d harmonic minor and it is perfectly combined with the track but at the same time you play A dominant shows the brilliance of music. I mean it seems so simple and at the same time so confusing

I am playing a D minor harmonic over this. Starting on the A, the 5th I believe. The backing sounds so cool, thanks for posting this.
@chusssMusic Жыл бұрын
Yep the parent scale is the D harmonic minor, but when the focus around the 5th it is one of the most famous Arabic scales called "Hijaz" or phrygian dominant.

Thanks, I had a great time playing along with this. This because of the tabs you show. I found out It is fun to play more or less pentatonic-ish and add notes I position up or down. I do not particularly like or dislike arabic music, I never hear it, but so now and then I like to play along with backingtracks that have music I am not familiar with like yours. This after I saw a video of you doning this.

When I started I use to play only the minor scale. but after 4 years of playing I felt that I need to explore new colors and taste new flavors. I love to explore all scales and modes and understand where they come from historically and geographically. I try to share some of these info here along with my videos. Please have a chance to check more about this scale here www.arabicguitar.net

bass, 5 string. Always working on modes. I do like the Phrygian dominant one it seems the best... I normally play heavy rock or metal in my band - but we don't really do much in this mode. Regardless, I shared your channel with a few of my musician friends...

@marcusjamescatafesta43582 жыл бұрын

Can somebody explain to me why does D harmonic minor work here ? Is it the same scale as A phrygian dominant and what does that mean ?
@chusssMusic5 жыл бұрын
A Phryg. dom. is the 5th mode of the parent scale D harmonic minor, that's why it has exactly the same notes just starting and ending on A instead of D.
