7:26 look at that. Is it weird where there’s gates on the other side of lane

Great video! There's a few of these in Northern California but Southern California uses this setup a lot.

Fascinating to learn this info on quad gates and trying to stop the not-so-smart.

There are many quad gates in South Seattle and King Street Station, they are very busy with Sounder, BNSF and Amtrak coming in altogether

Great video! These don't exist here in Alabama, as far as I'm aware, but I did film a few while I was up in North Carolina recently.

I like these but my personal feeling is that on-coming gates should always be in the down position for at least 5-10 seconds before the off-going gates start down. Never, ever trap a car on the tracks, no matter how dumb the driver may be. The ones at 3:50 at 5:09 do it correctly. Look at the set at 6:10 - look at the huge gap between gates and tracks. A car running that on-coming gate would normally get across both sets of tracks but in this case would get trapped by that off-going gate that went down at the same time the on-coming gate went down. I'm glad to hear that some new systems have a type of radar that prevents a car from getting trapped between gates.

Yeah, usually 5-10 seconds is left but can be less with the radar systems.
