What's with the buns? That's a very Bramhinical symbol, while Kalari belongs to non-Bramhins.

They have long hair so they tie it up as a bun. It has nothing to do with brahminism

Also if you look at the images of old Kerala where Kalari originates from you will see this was the hair style of the warriors as well.

@Amal no, they didn't. Only Bramhins were allowed to have the bun. Others grew long hair but were not allowed to have that bun.

@@arkamukhopadhyay9111 then file a case in court.... Kalaripayatyu belongs to kerala.. Irrespective of al caste and religion v keralites practiced this at the time of sangam age... And the hair style early Kalaripayatyu warriors of kerala have bun on their head.. Ancient keralites known as Keralaputras developed ty this art against pandyachola kingdoms there was a 100 yr war between Keralaputras and pandyachola kingdom so Keralaputras developed this techniques against pandyachola kingdoms.. Mauraya king Ashokan inscription tells about pandyas, cholas, sahyaputras, Keralaputras(cheralam/keralam) and Thambapanni (srilanka ).

​@@rahulmohan5379the art practised here is adimurai...it belongs to pandyas...cholas had other martial art called kuthuvarisai a battered down form of varmakalai ...this adimurai is also called thekken kalari by keralites...but vadakkan kalaripayattu is keralas own martial art...this is the art taught by the nadars and thevars of South tamilnadu to nairs in Kerala when they were employed by the travancore Kingdom as mercenaries.
