+Kerrigan M Can you tell us some Late 80's Synth songs that sound like this?
@nothankyoutube9 жыл бұрын
+Emanda Losvek The cure, human league, depeche mode, eurythmics, pet shop boys. I still think chvrches and a lot of other new bands are an evolution, but they at least have some roots and inspiration from brit synth pop.
@emandalosvek40549 жыл бұрын
Kerrigan M The Cure weren't synth pop. Human League, Depeche Mode and Eurythmics were making synth pop in the early to mid 1980's with Depeche Mode having a different sound based around guitars, generally dreary, slow and contemplative sounds by the end of the 1980's. Pet Shop Boys were late 1980's synth but were generally posturing at a much lower tempo with the occasional pick up but never to the pace of Chvrches, You got it right about Chrvches being an evolution. I don't agree with you that their sound could be grouped into late 1980's synth pop although their are some links in that they have a personally empowered conviction, feel good factor that feels very genuine as if they personally worked hard to get that feeling rather than the record company manufacturing it which I think was fairly common in the 1980's unlike now.
@nothankyoutube9 жыл бұрын
Emanda Losvek okay then...I guess I'll correct it to "mid 80s synth". Didn't know the internet needed to be so specific. It was a general comment that was meant to be fun.

It's pleasing how Lauren looks as delicate as her voice and the musical arrangement sounds, and the soft colors look. The haze in the video makes it seem surreal, as if she were in her internal place of safety and comfort, close to completely healing her emotional wounds. She looks vulnerable in a beautiful way. Coming to peace with herself, accepting things for what they were and preparing to finally close the chapter of a broken romance. That's what I visualize due to her tranquility during the storm that seems to cease as she softly dances in the water... and that guy behind the fog, it shows how distant he is from her, since she is leaving him behind. Barely visible within her.

Honestly one of the most underappreciated bands of our time. (EDIT: been seeing some folks disagree with this, and I just wanted to clarify that I meant in the mainstream sense. I know CHVRCHES is actually very popular when compared to most bands of today.)

top 5 in the world in my opinion. unfortunately our gen doesnt know good music. theyd rather listen to garbage and follow the pack of morons, like the Malf prick above
@alfredagain5 жыл бұрын
Well said, Cory Phillips. I'm way past millennial age and I'm baffled as to the music tastes of your gen. All that shit without a beat and pretty boys emoting so hard it sounds like they're straining with constipation. And whatever happened to guitars, drums, bands even, and people without ghetto names? I do my best to understand. I think Chvrches are great but they sure don't enjoy the success of the absolute garbage acts of today.

*Lyric : -* I gave up on time Just like you said you would There are tiny cracks of light underneath me And you say I got it wrong But I tried hard to uncover them I have somehow got Away with everything Anything you ever did was strictly by design But you got it wrong And I'll go anywhere but there And you had best believe That you cannot build what I don't need And I know I need to feel relief And I know you'll never fold But I believe nothing that I'm told And I know I need to feel relief I know I need to feel released Take care to tell it just as it was Take care to tell on me for the cause I know I need to feel released Take care to bury all that you can Take care to leave a trace of a man I will show restraint Just like we said we should You think I'll apologize for things I left behind But you got it wrong And I'm as sane as I ever was You talk far too much For someone so unkind I will wipe the salt off of my skin And I'll admit that I got it wrong And there is grey between the lines And you had best believe That you cannot build what I don't need And I know I need to feel relief And I know you'll never fold But I believe nothing that I'm told And I know I need to feel relief I know I need to feel released Take care to tell it just as it was Take care to tell on me for the cause I know I need to feel released Take care to bury all that you can Take care to leave a trace of a man I know, I know, I know, I know I know, I know, I know, I know I know I need to feel released Take care to tell it just as it was Take care to tell on me for the cause I know I need to feel released Take care to bury all that you can Take care to leave a trace of a man I know, I know, I know, I know I know, I know
