They used all four as far as I can see during the Pandemic. Reward -they actually were giving away free stuff as motivation, also you got to enter places once you got it that were no go for non vaccinated. Ideology - a good citizen takes it a bad one doesn’t etc, doing it for “fellow citizens. Ego - you will be a hero and be protecting others etc, and as you say Coercion - get it or else you will lose your job, your access to all sorts of places services etc, right to travel, even some medical treatments. It was a fully orchestrated attack on all levels. Seeing this manipulation is what made me really sit up and start paying attention.

@@ros1520 you're right... I actually forgot about the initial rewards because I ignored them. I remember they started out being just a free burger and fries, then escalated to hundreds of dollars. That's pretty much the point where I became certain it was evil, unnatural manipulation.

@@cherylmockotr Exactly! I totally agree! evil, unnatural manipulation. It's scary just how effective it was, and how it divided families and friends, "divide and conquer" is very relevant here. They also are aware that I am previously vaccine damaged, another big reason I was very skeptical.At least my family have stopped boosting.

Keyword "pre-disposed" a person that is open to feeling something when hearing the message and allowing the feeling to grow and become important. If our mind is not pre-disposed to such messages, we just discard the message as noise.

I think that there are more factors that can manipulate anyone easily than someone just being a "pre-disposed" type. Imagine the manupulation starting as a young child. Or seeing the same thing over and over again your entire life. I believe we have all been mass manipulated our whole lives. We have "belief filters" that we don't even realize are from manipulation.

I once served as a mystery shopper. The NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) extended up to 5 years from any assigned task. With the FBI, an agreement mandated the deletion of personal identity and forbade contact with friends and family until retirement. Why then did the CIA permit him to discuss their training program publicly?

He certainly managed to alter the CIA's acronym from MICE to RICE. Money, Ideology, Coercion and Ego. You don't have to look far on the web to validate that either. The significance? MICE is how we're treated by most alphabet agencies.
@Uzodesign8 ай бұрын
How do you people come up with this? Common sense should tell you that he only discloses that which he's allowed to disclose. Even actors know they aren't allowed to discuss spoilers. Secondly, nowhere in this clip did he try to enlist anyone or paint the CIA as good or bad. He just presented facts he's allowed to talk about and tells you those knowledge can be applied to business and if you're smart you would also know you can apply them to relationships as well or in education. I don't think one needs to be in the CIA to figure out that RICE is a practical way to get people to act in your interests. All he has done here is label the terms. I bet someone somewhere who is unaware of this clip nor in the FBI is utilizing these tactics. How do you think the charismatic cult leaders get their followers to do their bidding? RICE. It's just human psychology. You should be grateful Andrew Bustamente has labeled it and broken it down for you to properly understand.

I went to business school and majored in marketing and this is spot on in terms of engagement. Marketing is motivation/manipulation to sell you something for the company’s bottom line. The hard part is choosing if it aligns with your values or not and whether you’re okay using peoples’ qualities in your favor. Some non-profits are okay but most of marketing is about the emotion that the ad evokes; thus playing to your demographic’s identity (ego/ideology) and how you can essentially get them to buy what you want. I struggled with the integrity of the field and chose not to pursue marketing post-grad. Can’t really escape it though, it is capitalist America after all.

When Disney and ABC merged in the 90's I noticed something that REALLY bothered me. As someone who had grown up without a tv, it seemed downright heavy handed. They frequently would offer trips to families on "reality shows" like the home makeover ones and especially liked to feature families that had foster or adopted children. The adoptive parents would say to the camera something like, "These kids have had a really rough life. They haven't been able to do normal kid things that every kid gets to do, like going to Disneyland." The not so subtle hint being that if you didn't take your kids to their theme park, you were a bad parent. I stopped buying Disney movies for my kids at that point and said I had no intention of ever taking my kids to Disney. My family and friends actually gave me a hard time about it and told me it was important for kids to get that trip in their childhood. Yep, they'd been brain washed and were annoyed at me for pointing it out.

I read in a book written by a ex-spy that and even also in another psychology book that people are far motivated to get AWAY from discomfort or FEAR than towards that which they desire. That is like coercion. If you want to impulse someone, just remind them of the negative. The things they will lose, and the detriment that might occur if they don't "move" and they will MOVE. But if you show them ego, rewards, ideology that usually won't have as much as a powerful effect. It's when the guy is scared about "losing" or falling into "discomfort" or "PAIN" is when he MOVES. He will pay you anything or go anywhere to escape that. That's just how people generally think.

I was thinking that we motivate ourselves with either positive (reward/gains) motivation or/AND negative (coercion/loses) motivation. Using both together gives stronger "emotional fuel" for motivation. Adding the other two tools (Ideology and Ego) can further cement self-conviction... Also, with regards to the 1) powerful "emotional message" fuel and the 2) "logical narrative" artificial paths, it is interesting that the Media Manipulation works on both war fronts. A disconnect between the two comes across as a non sequitur. Like how a loud protester is a complaining Troublemaker, but not insightful Problem Solver.

The MBA critique is because of the differences between marketing and branding. What you’re talking about is branding, i.e. what a brand stands for. Have you ever read the book called "Candide"? It's a Voltaire's. He manage to experience tremendous adventures although his naiveness carries him in some disastrous adventures, with a bit of à la Greek ironic tragicomedy where stars just never aligns, sort of speaking. Greek tragicomedy is in a genre where someone is looking for a peer, and going at the crossroads but no one's there, but just as the character leaves, the other character enters into play, and is also waiting for his counterpart who's definitively missing, so he also leaves. Missed each other by just a minute. That's the style that we encounter in Candide. The question is: How would Voltaire's Candide survive the modern world?

@toryworldmusic8 ай бұрын
What he is talking about is something called, interpellation or "hailing". That is part one of a given "message". Part two of a "message" is the solution or the answer, which can also be conveyed directly or by omissions, which is what the news media does.... Ironic because of the title. If it's not hitting you, I'm sorry 🙂.

Well what I have gained is you can’t trust any of them. Even if their Ex- employees. And if they have no problem doing it the first time, they’ll have no problem doing it every time after. Also I’m sure it’s great fun in his household. Always having to second-guess if you’re being manipulated.

I don't know who you hired to clip these hot takes but salacious thumbnails like this are truly ruining the credibility of your brand. This dissonant image leads me to believe you're not a micromanager. But a little oversight goes a long way in curating and cultivating a cohesive and authentic image in your marketing.

Indeed, I've tried commenting a couple of times to let Steven know about this, but I think (sadly) it's a case of resorting to playing the YT game rather than authenticity. Bottom line, the clicks are necessary for the 'success' of the channel. Sad but true.

Dear Steven, I have been a subscriber of Diary of a CEO for quite some time and have always appreciated the content. However, I noticed today that my subscription appears to have been removed. I suspect this may have been intentional, given the profound truths shared on the channel. This could potentially impact the subscription numbers you’re observing, as it raises questions about whether something unusual or suspicious might be occurring on your platform.
