Wow, Thanks for sharing,, would make for a great day trip! Have you been to Palmetto State Park? Lots of history in that area... Ottine is home to the original Warm Springs Hospital.. (Hospital and surrounding areas are off-limits since there is an assisted living for people with traumatic brain injuries located there). A lot of folklore, very beautiful, I'm sure there's much more than I described, I love Texas!

You haven't went through a drought yet in south central Texas. When the aquifer drops is when water rationing goes into effect. Even at 600 feet, that is a lot of water. The Comal Springs must stay flowing from the aquifer for the blind salamanders that are endangered. Check your water bill, it will climb.

Omgosh. Don't you just love Boerne? If you like wine, go to Chisholm Trail winery in Fredericksburg. And hike Enchanted rock a bit past Fredericksburg. Oh and while you're in Fredericksburg, look up the Fredericksburg Pie Company...the best pie in Texas.
