​​​​@@martiangod I don't like to rain on this little warriors parade, but I was spellbinding in amazement on the live show. This is my re watching of it. The box moved when ant and Dec walked away from it. It was him getting into it. It was a great performance. He's young and will be a star, no doubt. But I think that apple was wrapped with nothing in it. And I was watching carefully second time round, and I think he pushed that hanky through the light weight tracing paper thin material then opened it conveniently. That being said it was a really great performance and I'm routing for him. And tbf all magic acts are performances and suspensions of reality. I really was blown away the first time I saw it. He still deserved EVERY SINGLE VOTE he got.

The way he talk and do his act is amazing for his young age ! 1st part he puts the tissue in his left fake thumb then when he comes back to Bruno he push it inside and with his skills he opens carefuly the paper to hide the fake thumb with the tissue inside the apple. 2nd part same for the tissue, disappear with some mirror. only able to see all of this in slow speed and he was close to jury so it's impressive af, glad he won his semi 🥰

For those criticising the obviousness of the trick (or illusion as it is otherwise known); thing to remember BGT is created for unknown amateurs rather than professionals or household names. It's about giving them the breakthrough. This isn't their 'job' yet, especially for child or teenage schoolchildren. Yes the camera work could be better, but it's difficult when it's live. Most acts look and sound better from the audience than on TV, hence the audience reaction. By the time this talent is a fully fledged adult he could be going to Vegas. Great showmanship and personality.

I don't watch much BGT, but I caught this young lad's performance here on KZbin a few weeks ago, and thought it was fantastic. This is on a whole other level, even from that. His presentation is absolutely spellbinding and unique, and he is wildly talented. I can't begin to imagine how proud and emotional his teacher who got a shout-out must have been! I don't know who he is up against, but it would take someone/something very special to beat him.

In 2:42 You can see the fake thumb on Left hand, with the “dog” inside! In 2:57 you can see him put the thumb inside the apple hole, and “magically” pull the “dog” out.. In 5:09 you see back of box from inside is black! That is a hole to the backstage! 4:07 is a distraction, while a picture of him on screen replaces him.

But the real magic is how well it is performed. For someone of his age, with his challenges in life and how well he performs on stage with the massive audience, that is the true magic on display!

I know exactly how he did this trick, when he stuff the cloth into his right hand, there is a thumb-like storage to store the cloth, and he uses his left thumb to insert into his right hand that stores the cloth, hence if you look closely at 2:42, there is sth sticking out at his left thumb, and this was exactly what was used to store the cloth. How did the cloth got into the hole of the apple? Simple, he dug a hole so he can insert his left thumb into the hole of the apple so that the cloth is successfully transferred from his thumb to the apple !

In 1990 I got to see a magic show performed live in Detroit, and I thought it was very cool at the time. But this---Cillian just absolutely blows everything and everyone right out of the water! What I saw 33 years ago was super easy to explain, but I have no clue at all how Cillian did all the things he did....and I don't want to know, I want to keep it his magic secret!

He hides the tissue inside a fake thumb, then stuffs that fake thumb into the hole in the apple to pull it back out again, same on stage, just stuffs it into a fake thumb. Disappearing is done with the help of lighting, very easy to lose someone against a black background on camera with clever lighting techniques - nothing to do with the boy, he just moves backwards at the right time behind the backdrop. clearly set up by BGT. Ant & Dec obviously help the performance, not sure this is allowed really but look how awkward Ant is with the box, his acting isn't very good. The back of the box is open, you can see this at 5:10, also look at his feet underneath the platform. They don't line up with his body as he's rotating the box. Now look at 4:52, slow the video right down to .25 speed and look at his feet. This has live editing over the top, or from a video editors point of view, the whole area under the platform has been masked. At 4:52 his left foot moves to his left, we should see it appear on the right side of the platform, the outside of the leg but we don't. Not really fair that video editing is used in conjunction with a magic act, it's a form of cheating. The BGT producers clearly want this kid to do well.
