When I was in the theatre and saw this movie, I was so proud of myself for being so similar to Jo. Being like Jo is so hard. In life, I tried my best to not conform to the norms that I didn't like. People made me understand that I was too different than what was expected from women, and I said: no. I always tried to be independant to guys in life, to get over my problems, to find solutions. I am so proud of all the Jo's who exist in this world. You are phenomal Ladies! Keep going!

FANTASTIC!! The movie was amazing and so was this edit. Jo is such wonderful and complex character and you managed to capture that and present it in such a short time, it's great work.

I love so much that you didn´t include Friedrich, she shouldn´t have ended up with anyone.

In the movie perhaps, but I can guarantee that she definitely should have in the book. It completes her character arc splendidly. In the novel, Jo unwilling to marry anyone came from a place of immaturity rather than what she claimed was independence. Unfortunately, the movie didn’t portray Friedrich’s character as well as the books described him. The reason they got together wasn’t simply because she had to marry, being a woman. But we see through several chapters, that during their time together, Jo grows a very deep and fond admiration and respect for the professor. Friedrich comes from a place of poverty and works to provide for his family. He is truly kindhearted and takes tremendous care of the children he teaches. He is greatly respected in his country for being a remarkable intellectual, but is always humble. Friedrich helped Jo improve not only her work when she started to write only for the sake of money, but complimented her character amazingly. Jo is a fireball, she’s incredibly passionate and is easy to anger (as she would describe herself). Friedrich is the complete opposite, calm and collected. And together, they developed this phenomenal relationship helping each other become the best version of themselves. This movie pushed a different narrative from the original novel, and I definitely urge you to read it in order to understand the book’s perspective. Although I enjoyed the movie, by pushing a feminist agenda (which isn’t a bad thing, just to clarify), it had to sacrifice so much of the character development and moral lessons presented by Alcott. Anyways, thank you for reading through my tangent. But I truly hope that you read the book. If you enjoyed the movie, there are so many more beautiful moments between the March sisters alongside an array of other characters.

The author never wanted Jo to get married. She wanted her to remain a spinster, but was pressured into giving her a love interest

@@zhuoxin8417 The author never wanted Jo to marry. She was supposed to be a reflection of Alcott, who also never had a male lover. The publishers forced her to create Friedrich as a love interest.
