Learn about CimeXa™ Insecticide Dust from Rockwell Labs and the application techniques you will need to use the product effectively.
CimeXa Insecticide Dust is the premier industry-leading insecticide for control of bedbugs and many other pests. Its engineered silica composition achieves rapid control while remaining viable for up to ten years when undisturbed. With its broad label usage, CimeXa Insecticide Dust is a comprehensive asset for pest elimination to service professionals.
- For control of bed bugs, fleas, ticks, lice, roaches, ants, firebrats, silverfish, spiders, mites and drywood termites.
- Kills bed bug adults, nymphs and nymphs hatched from dusted eggs - including pyrethroid-resistant bed bugs.
- The preferred treatment for brown recluse, yellow sac, hobo and other persistent spiders indoors.
- Labeled for treating cracks, crevices, voids, mattresses, carpets, pet rest areas, attics and many other areas.
- Odorless, non-staining desiccant structure will not absorb water vapor except in very high humidity conditions, preventing clumping and maintaining its active ability once applied.
- Easy to apply - can be used as a dust or mixed with water and sprayed
Low toxicity, engineered silica base exhibits exceptional absorption of water (in liquid form) and oil, which destroys the waxy cuticle of insects, resulting in rapid dehydration and death.
- Much better consistency and over three times faster compared to diatomaceous earth.
- Remains viable for up to 10 years when undisturbed.
- Should not be used in damp areas.

I got Cimexa and Crossfire and applied a few days ago. So far I'm very pleased with all the bed bug carcasses I'm seeing. The bodies I see that are still intact were probably killed by Crossfire. The bodies that are all curled up with nothing left but skeleton were probably killed by Cimexa. I'll try to remember to do a follow up in a month or so.

Cimexa (amorphous silica gel) dust is very effective, best used as a dry powder wherever possible -- applied with a puffer or brush. We used it in our apartment complex for seniors and disabled folks. Cimexa worked where everything failed -- pesticides, diatomaceous earth, and very expensive but ineffective full building heat treatment. Even with a return infestation after 3 years (primarily due to new residents bringing bed bugs with them), spread has been confined because of the long residual effect of Cimexa in baseboards and between wall voids. While the Cimexa and water spray application may seem appealing because it's easier, it's also less effective than the dry powder. The loose dry powder worked within 12 hours in our tests. The water spray could take 3 days or longer before the bed bugs picked up enough dried Cimexa dust to be effective in desiccating the bed bugs. The loose dry powder also has the advantage of spreading itself more readily in wall voids of large buildings where drafts occur, and there's no risk of water damage or electrical shock. Puffers with non-conducting applicators are safer. Other methods include local application of steam heat (via a clothes steaming wand or upholstery steam cleaner) to furniture, baseboards, etc. -- anything that won't be damaged by steam heat. It works very quickly and can help salvage otherwise usable furniture, bedding and clothing. We used an ordinary Conair steam/heat clothing wand on furniture and baseboards. For larger applications a rented upholstery steam/heat cleaner would be useful. Electronics and other delicate items that cannot withstand heat/steam can be treated with concentrated carbon dioxide. An NIH/NCBI study recommends ordinary dry ice in an enclosed container such as a styrofoam ice chest or closed plastic trash can with the items -- computer, electronics, any delicate item. Keep the container with dry ice closed for 24-48 hours while the carbon dioxide displaces oxygen and asphyxiates the bed bugs. See: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23025189 These methods are fairly labor intensive and compared with the modest cost of the materials including Cimexa dust, the biggest cost for professional application would be skilled labor. If the pest control applicators are unwilling to put in the labor, including getting on their hands and knees to do the job properly, results will be compromised. That was our experience with a pest control company that preferred the water based application of Cimexa around baseboards and in the general vicinity of furniture, but didn't actually strip the beds, flip the furniture and treat seams and under dust covers, inside box springs, etc. Do the job as demonstrated in this video and it will be effective.

@@andrewtaylor5492 I ended up going kinda crazy and used Cimexa all along any cracks and crevices in my whole house and underneath my furniture and in any cracks and crevices in my furniture. Then I used Crossfire Bed Bug Concentrate which is a liquid mixture you can spray and I sprayed that in every corner and along the floor where the walls meet the floor and in all my window seals and I sprayed the underside and inside of all my furniture. I also got diatomaceous earth and sprinkled it all in my carpet. I hauled my bed and the couch I found the bed bugs in to the dump. I took all my clothes dressers apart and coated the inside edges and crevices with Crossfire and Cimexa. It took me 2 straight days of work non-stop going through all my my house treating any cracks and crevices but I have never seen another bed bug since then. I probably went overboard but I hate that dirty feeling of feeling like I am living with bugs so it was worth it for me. The bed and couch i threw out were like 10 years old anyway. But yes from my experience and all the research I did, Cimexa works very very well, especially when you also use the Crossfire Concentrate

@@BrentCox2B thanks for the thorough reply, found some bugs and did treatments but wasn't knowledgeable enough to know everywhere those bastards can get before I jumped the gun and now they're back again and I'm looking for a way to go about it. I'm thinking I might just have to cave and hire an exterminator but i wanted to try again before I do , I can't stand the feeling of knowing those dirty shitheads are in my house.

Has anyone gotten sick using this? Does it cause lung disease?
@rockwelllabsltd
@rockwelllabsltd 3 жыл бұрын
Hello Joe, thanks for your question. We have not had any reports of CimeXa causing illness or lung disease. CimeXa is an amorphous silica dust, not a crystalline silica dust. Crystalline silica dust is known to cause silicosis if breathed chronically. Amorphous silica does normally have desiccating (drying) properties, so inhalation of dust during application can be irritating and should be minimized (a particulate dust mask is recommended for application). But it is not considered hazardous. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
