WHO WE ARE:
We are Christina, Katherine, Lisa, Amy, and Lauren Cimorelli, 5 sisters originally from Northern California who are now based in Nashville, TN. We grew up singing in a big family of 11 children and our mom, a classical pianist, taught us to sing in harmony when we were kids. We got our start in musical theatre productions, doing classical pieces in the church choir and performing barbershop harmonies at nursing homes for the elderly (back then our grandma was our agent).
In 2009, when Christina was 18 years old and Lauren was 10 years old, we posted a cover of us singing Party In The USA that ended up going viral. From that video, we were discovered by a manager in London, and shortly after signed with Universal Music Group under Island Records. We moved to Los Angeles in 2010, where we lived and worked in the L.A. pop music world for 5 years, before getting extremely burnt out. We realized a major label deal wasn’t for us, left our label and moved to Nashville, TN, looking for a new start. In 2015, we officially became Nashville-based, independent artists.
Since then, we have written and released 5 albums of original music, toured all over the U.S., South America, and Europe, performed at festivals in Germany, Spain and the Philippines, wrote a book, Believe In You: Big Sister Stories and Advice on Living Your Best Life, started a podcast (The Cimorelli Podcast) and reached over 1 billion views on our KZbin channel. Currently, the 5 of us sisters are embarking on new journeys of marriage and starting our own families (Christina, Katherine and Lisa), and figuring out life as twenty-somethings (Lauren and Amy).
Our goal with our KZbin channel is to constantly challenge ourselves to grow creatively, and to make videos and music that is positive, uplifting and innovative. Our Christian faith guides our decisions, and we will always create content that is family friendly, while not being afraid to touch on topics that we believe are important, such as mental health and personal growth. I’ve had many paranormal experiences that led me to figure out that my skin picking wasn’t just a uncontrollable addiction but that there are actual beings that can think on their own causing my issue. I’ve woken up in the middle of the night to my back being rubbed, I one time levitated and opened my eyes to looking down at my room from my head near the ceiling in a vertical standing position. Somehow floating in the air which is impossible but it’s what happened, and I was so tired and irritated from waking up in the middle of the night and seeing something impossible I just closed my eyes, because I didn’t feel in danger of falling the few feet to the floor

I couldn't love this song more, but what broke me was the end. The band-aids with the flowers covering up self-harm scars. As someone who used to self harm this just brought back so many memories but it also made me look at my scars in a new way. For years, they've hurt every time I talk about them, and I can't forget about those nights. Not to mention, I honestly think I'm ugly with them. However, that one image, that one moment, it portrays my self-harm scars as flowers. As if I made them when I was still growing and I need to stop reprimanding the girl I was back then who was hurting herself. It's not a good a way to cope, but yelling at yourself for hurting yourself doesn't help you heal. And seeing the flowers in full bloom makes the scars look beautiful. I might have cut thorns into me, but they grew into flowers that no one can break or take away. Each petal on the flower is part of my scar stories. Sad, but beautiful. Thank you for helping me think I'm pretty despite my past of self harm. Finally, I can see my scars as "battle scars" or "tattoos" or my "butterflies," (the butterfly project thing), or in some cases even, something to be proud of because it's proof I kept going, even when I was at my worst. I finally don't hate myself for the fact I used to self harm, and I finally love my body, self harm scars and all, THANK YOU.

Wow, what a masterpiece of a video! From the moment i saw Kath on that treadmill i couldn't stop crying. Things i want to point out are the EXCELLENT editing of the video and PERFECT production of the song! That second chorus comes in swinging! I love the choices of storylines and Lauren you really are such a great actress. Kath's ending part "you neeever taaake what's, under your skin!" is👌 Images that are really striking to me are Christina on the chair, Christina's flower c section scar and the bandaids on the wrist at the end 🌸 Best part in the video, 3:47ish when you sing "more than skin!" the first time after the second chorus when it flashes quick from Amy to Lauren to Katherine. Seriously, the editing in this is 💯💥 Lyrics that hit the hardest are right at the beginning, "They say you are too much yet you're still not enough." Also when you sing "he didn't mean it" it just had me, on the floor. And Lauren giving her all while singing "I'm a survivor" with Amy's beautiful harmonies... just pure and raw and perfect. Tears rolling down… I have had an autoimmune disorder since I was about 7 and I just turned 31. God has blessed my life tremendously. The whole song resonates with me, but the part that made me bawl was Christina's, "I am a mother." I have lost two precious babies. My son Robert was born at 23 weeks and lived for 5 hrs. My daughter Judith gained her wings at 15 1/2 weeks pregnant... Christina is right. I am a mom. The lyric that hits me most is: “He didn’t mean it, you’re pain is inconvenient.” Reason being is when I was THIRTEEN and in foster care, my male carer Scott sexually assaulted me and introduced me to pornography. I told his boss and she didn’t believe me, no one did. His boss asked me if I was lying. She told me (when I was just thirteen) that she had fired him. I found out through my father at 19 that they didn’t fire Scott, they paid him a large amount of money to stay away. And then they covered it all up with their lies. May 11th 2021 was when I broke my silence. And spoke up. Not everyone believed me, but that hasn’t stopped me! I love everything about this song and it’s powerful message. I’ve been having it on repeat since it released.

I didn't really know why this song hit me so hard until I saw the video. I think it's because I feel trapped. Trapped inside my sister's illness, trapped inside my head, trapped inside my selfbetrayal from the past, trapped inside my spiral. I try so hard to break free from everything and I hope I can one day be as free as you at the end of the video. I am moving forward thanks to therapy and hope. I feel like my struggle of feeling trapped in something invisible and the fight to break free is beautifullly depicted here, thank you.
