I noticed the ‘yeah,’ as well. I assume it’s an unintentional and unconscious variant of so many saying ‘um’ sprinkled throughout their sentences. I especially enjoyed hearing him say that Cornwallis had been ill at the time of the surrender. He is basing this on contemporaneous accounts, supplemented by his knowledge of the man and his character. Good history.
