What does the Sacrament of Holy Orders do to a man? I've been taught that only a priest can dispense certain Sacraments. And doing that is his chief duty. Without a priest, the Faithful are left without The Holy Sacrifice, Reconciliation, and Anointing. All that doesn't take much of his time-usually about 15 hours of a 168 hour week-and he usually has about a 75 hour work week. He's got to be celibate, i.e., no wife and children-no family-and, like the rest of us Catholics, he has to strive to be chaste. His seminary training had better train him to use his time well. Fortunately, the modern world-in the USA-is full of possibilities for the productive use of his time, and if he has a wise bishop, he will be a beacon for Jesus God Almighty.

Thanks a lot for your reply! I just met my spiritual director today for a 2-hour discussion and he further affirmed my signs of Vocation (he affirmed my Vocation and encouraged me to pray forward in our last meeting two months ago), so I follow his advice. Wow! Unbelievable! How could that be?
