If you're like me and you've watched this film over 500 times, you'll notice that not only is Lily's acting absolutely incredible, with all the little intakes of breath at the perfect moments and the nervousness we can clearly see, Mr hunka hunka Prince Charming, played by Richard Madden, is doing an absolute phenomenal job with his looks. He's focused all his attention onto Ms Ella by completely phasing out everyone else, and the smiles... gosh darn it, they look so genuine. That's how all men should look at their ladies. To be fair, she has a full face of makeup on, it's just a subtle look (so does he, to be honest). Also there's the glitter. AND her dress is covered in literally THOUSANDS of swarovski crystals. Plus they lit up the whole place to make her look her best and then in post-production probably spent at least a week solid agonizing over every frame in this scene and color-correcting their asses off. Plus, it's not like they started out with a troll. She's very danged pretty to begin with.

This dress has so much history. The designer wanted to add so many layers to it for when she danced, it would give a waterfall effect and it worked. The layers underneath are made of a synthetic fabric called yumissima, which is extremely light and extremely expensive. It's so light that if you throw a piece in the air it'll usually just float. Lily James fits perfectly for the role and is very talented, but no one ever talks about Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine. I think she stole the show in this movie. She is the perfect actress for this role; a younger, more sophisticated Lady Tremaine was perfect for this movie. Cate portrays the antagonist perfectly. But I loved every single bit of the movie.

Myriam Mailloux you can also tell that she used the original as a base with that hard solid state that she does that makes her eyes flash and a few expressions here and there. She also models her speech pattern after Eleanor audley which is fantastic. She truly paid homage to the original

@Mini-Toast_9 жыл бұрын
+Laura Ashley I do like the movie. But her character (just personal preference) is too happy. Like they rip her dress, she goes crying, and two seconds later through just talking to the beggar, is happy. I still didn't get how if she could leave, why didn't she just leave. I know she said she didn't want to leave because the house held sentimental value, but I'm sure her parents wouldn't have wanted her to sit their and get abused. Also when her dress ripped why didn't she just sew it up, hop on the horse, and go. I do like the idea of giving her more powerful traits. But she never used them all that well. Also why didn't she just lie to the stepmom and go to the palace. The prince would have recognized her. And she could have just told him the truth about the stepmom. I don;t know :l
@MsLovestory019 жыл бұрын
+Kittycutie The step mother would have seen her, that is why she had the glamour spell on her. The house was more than just sentimental value. Her family had lived in that house for over 200 years and it was where every happy memory from her childhood had taken place. She fought for it and at the end they were kicked out. So good did win. Cinderella's personality had always been to look on the bright side and to try and see the best in people even if they were horrible. She always looked for redeeming qualities. If she left the house it would have been like letting her step mother win and she was determined not to let her do that. Obviously her parents wouldn't have wanted her abused. Cinderella's character is supposed to be happy and it was more than two seconds that she was upset. That was the moment she broke, that she wanted to lay down and quit. If the fairy godmother never came she would completely given up. Believing in something or someone greater than yourself gives you power.
@Mini-Toast_9 жыл бұрын
MsLovestory01 I do respect your'e opinions and see your'e argument. I just wished the movie had gone another route.. Like maybe Cinderella had known the prince from childhood or something. I guess I'm seeing the movie for what I want it to be rather than what it is.

I just watched the movie and realised why I love the Story of Cinderella so much (especially this one). Not because there was a Prince saving her, but because of Cinderella herself. She lost everything and had to put up with so many hardships but she still remains kind to those ugly souls surrounding her and found beauty and happiness in small things even after all this time. (Sorry for any errors. English is not my first language)

I really like about this movie that the prince and Cinderella met each other before the ball. In some versions, they just have a dance and that's all. So basically, the prince is falling in love with her appearance and she's probably falling in love, because he's the prince. In this version Cinderella dosen't know he's a prince and Kidd dosen't know much about Ella, not even her name. He just fell in love with her personality.

I love how much she stands out because of her simplicity. These eager women are all in busy ballgowns, donning elaborate hairstyles and adorned in costume jewelry, but Ella just wears a braided crown with her hair loose, a gown that is at once showstopping yet simple, and glass slippers. She looks as if she walked out of a dream ✨

The movie works because even the simple stuff are interesting to look at, like all of Ella's clothing. It's sweet, humble and simple and reflects her character so well. Many Cinderella films have boring visuals and locations, but 2015's Cinderella is a treat for the eyes.

@CharissaDavisprofile7 жыл бұрын
Refielle and i don't really agree. Emma Watson is fighting for woman rights and she refused to wear a corset because of the bad image of young and too skinny womans in the fashion industry. she wants Belle to look natural and real woman so young girls will see her a idol instead of the anorexia models from the big brands. that' why her dress looks like a 'summer dress'

+Paulway Chew what does the corset have to do? They could have made a beautiful dress without the corset like in so many other movies, it's not Emma's fault.
@Lena-zn4re6 жыл бұрын
Lau Emma had most of the say when it came to making the yellow dress. She wanted it to look like that. Not only is it severely lacking in any wow factors, it’s also not historically accurate. BATB was set in the 18th century and that dress was not from that time period. So, technically it is her fault. Well, half of it at least. The other half should be the fault of the costume department for allowing her to be so heavily involved.
