Good because he almost killed the female lead in the beginning and instead apologized to her and make sure she isn't hurt by taking her to the hospital to get a check up by a doctor, he decided to act like a heartless ass-whole who doesn't care about other humans life.

I apologize for any mistakes.） While I cannot speak for all of China or Asia, based on my own life experiences, there is a saying in Asia called '重男輕女' which means favoring sons over daughters. This means some families, especially those facing poverty (which may not only be material but also emotional), may treat their daughters as a kind of 'commodity.' In such cases, less emphasis is placed on educating daughters compared to sons. The primary hope is that daughters will grow up to be beautiful and can, through their appearance, attract a wealthy partner for marriage. Instead of "I hope my daughter grows up healthy," it seems more like "I hope my daughter can bring me more money (or benefits)." Ironically, much of this money often ends up being used to assist or compensate for the sons. (This is because sons, being excessively indulged, are more prone to becoming spoiled. For instance, in my own family, the expectation is for me, as a sister, to work and support my brother who does not work.) I hope this answers your question.( ´•ω•`；)、

Adding on to the comment above, Chinese (and manh other asian cultures) are traditionalists in the sense that the son's off-spring will carry the family name and thus carry on the family line, where as a daughter and her children will take her husband's name. Because of this, Chinese also have a saying that a "daughter is like spilt water", you will get nothing back so these dramas just place an emphasis on how some families will push aside daughters because they consider them a zero-return investment and that any benefits given to a daughter are lost to her married family.

All of that is true with the culture in a China about women, but that still doesn’t answer the question on why “fathers” treat there biological daughter that way. Especially when you see him cherishing one daughter over the other. Not even a middle ground, one is cherished and given every chance, gets all the good things, gets away with murder, literally, gets away with sleep with her sisters boyfriend/husband, and she does no wrong. While the other sister, literally gets beat and drugged, and abused. There is no explanation for that.

@@shaylablueangelusually in those the dad was forced to marry his first wife (who he didn't love) and cheated with the partner he "loved" if you can even call it that. So they care more for the child they had with the woman they cared more for.

Eu gosto do tipo de beleza do protagonista masculino , e o sorriso dele parace de um menino sapeca ....eu acho muito agradavel homens com uma beleza mais rustica, nao tao perfeitos, ou com feicões muito delicadas. . Achei ele bastante expressivo e interessante.
