Jackie was also a guitarist of considerable ability. I'm assuming that's him playing on this track. Such wonderful music.

who in the hell cares who's better !!! When I'm in the mood for Sinatra then I play one of his CD's when I want to play a Jackie Cd, I play that ! Lately I'm on a Jackie kick, tomorrow I'm on another Jackie kick, That's Jackie Ryan that is. Next week , Sarah Vaughn, Frank D'Rone etc. We're lucky to have these great singers. I'm a fan of Mario Lanza. I love 1940's Jazz singer;Frankie Laine, I just love music.

This post is a ditto to my post as "brent h" from 2 years ago. Sinatra who I've been listening too lately is a mood master who emotes and reads as well or better then any. But I still prefer Jackie. He is a better technician then Frank - superior range, both high and low. For anyone who would argue that, I'll up the ante; Jackie Paris had a far superior range to "The Voice." Taste is of course subjective. So I may be in a vocal minority (ha ha) but I also prefer Jackie's style and "The Jackie Paris Sound."

Hahaha Well Bill Kenny was technically the best pop/jazz singer ever. He had the widest range of anyone Ive ever heard and could truly sound like an instrument. Listen to him sing Autumn Leaves here on KZbin. The man couldn't swing his way through a paper bag but he could sure sing a ballad. -Austin

I just answered my own question. Hadn't noticed the personnel listing.

I don't agree with you about Paris being a better singer, technically, than Sinatra. Sinatra in the 40s and 50s [and even on into the 60s] could sing with ANYONE. And his phrasing is legendary. I love Paris but he's no Sinatra.
