There was no concept of a man being taken because the whole idea of being "taken" implies that the man could only be with one person, which was not true. In fact, it would have been seen as a ridiculous and childish mindset, especially when it came to the upper class and imperial family. A man of high standing who wanted to be monogamous would likely be criticized by his family and even by government officials for prioritizing his personal feelings and those of his wife over his family and (in the case of a contender to the throne) the empire. His wife would also become the subject of gossip for being a selfish control freak. Plus, most unmarried upper class girls have never met or interacted with men outside of their families as they're usually not allowed to go to the front of their house where guests are entertained, much less go out. If they do go out, it would certainly not be with men or to meet men. So they're much more likely to fall for the first guy who is nice to them.

True, I am glad there’s a lot of changes in this world. My Mom had fallen to parental consent to marry my Dad after world war 2 since my Dad is educated and rich she was 16 my Dad is 21 (she told us and confirmed when we got their original marriage contract for burial purposes). I almost fell on it but fled coz’ I don’t want that to happen to me, I’ve seen my Mom cry a lot, every single child that was born in my household there’s always another woman clinging to him and richness and power is the culprit. It breaks my heart to leave but I had no choice my Mom hold my throat so tight I can’t breath so I left. Luckily, found the right one but sometimes our society is not forgiving due to our color differences but we don’t put our color differences between us instead it made our marriage stronger.
