@MasterSteve_117 10 ай бұрын
Because it was unrealistic. You can read much about tank combat and tactics. Especially the final end of the movie was the most stupid. A whole SS battalion running in front of a isolated sherman was just pure madness and made 0 sense. The germans were not stupid and would have taken that sherman out with 5-6 men and a dozen of panzerschrecks and panzerfaust flanking the sherman.

Agree. They made great visual work and atmosphere, but the story is quite flat and battles are too far from reality. Even the last battle. With couple of Panzerfaust, which every division of SS had at that time, Germans would have finished this battle pretty soon. Or simply ignored this immobilised tank and went their way. The final religious speech was also a bit artificial to me, but I can admit, that probably it is personal judgement. I was much more impressed by "Band of Brothers" miniseries. Probably it is good idea to use real background for the film instead of imaginary situations. There are plenty of real stories.

Imho this movie has two unrealistic scenes (and I'm not even mentioning the long fighting scene at the end) : the Tiger tank should never have left its conceiled position in stead of coming out of it; and the hidden anti tank cannon should have taken out at least one Sherman tank.

Most comments here assume war is predictable and the procedures are always followed by every group. That is simply not the case. The main criticism is that the troop of tanks operated far to close to one another, in real life there would have been far more distance between tanks, but I fully understand that this was for photographic purposes. The other is the ending, sorry, just naff.

4:13 it's crazy how post-processing, effects, lighting, sound, are all so different in the final film vs the actual filming noises and colours of real life.

I swear these videos have more production than the movie itself... let that sink in for a sec.... if they put all of the effort on the movie instead of these "videos" it might have been legendary, instead, we got a mid-low movie....

Tracer rounds are why it looks like that. Most heavy machine guns had a tracer round every so often to help them aim.
