@MasterSteve_11710 ай бұрын
Because it was unrealistic. You can read much about tank combat and tactics. Especially the final end of the movie was the most stupid. A whole SS battalion running in front of a isolated sherman was just pure madness and made 0 sense. The germans were not stupid and would have taken that sherman out with 5-6 men and a dozen of panzerschrecks and panzerfaust flanking the sherman.
@petercarr36869 ай бұрын

@slavsh Жыл бұрын
Agree. They made great visual work and atmosphere, but the story is quite flat and battles are too far from reality. Even the last battle. With couple of Panzerfaust, which every division of SS had at that time, Germans would have finished this battle pretty soon. Or simply ignored this immobilised tank and went their way. The final religious speech was also a bit artificial to me, but I can admit, that probably it is personal judgement. I was much more impressed by "Band of Brothers" miniseries. Probably it is good idea to use real background for the film instead of imaginary situations. There are plenty of real stories.
@KillerT-Bone Жыл бұрын
How is it unrealistic? Ah right, because people like you judge an entire move over one scene (that is still extremely good, but apparently having a documentary matters more than entertainment).
@Emdee5632 Жыл бұрын
Imho this movie has two unrealistic scenes (and I'm not even mentioning the long fighting scene at the end) : the Tiger tank should never have left its conceiled position in stead of coming out of it; and the hidden anti tank cannon should have taken out at least one Sherman tank.
@Kimishibai100 Жыл бұрын
Most comments here assume war is predictable and the procedures are always followed by every group. That is simply not the case. What the tiger should have done or how the Sherman's should have responded is up for anybody's guess in war. Try not to think too much into this film and you can really enjoy it. It's not a history movie.
