My mom found me and my brothers 25years after being taken away by my dad. It's been 30 years since our reunion and tremendous healing occurred, at least for me because I was 5 with many memories and connection. These stories make me cry every time. Also met a half brother 10 years I didn't know existed. Heand I get along very well. God brought us all back to my mom before it was to late. I've made it a point to help my mom heal after so many years separated. Keep healing people from broken families! It's so important to help people deal with deep brokenness.

I was in a home for unwed mothers home also. If my aunt hadn’t of intervened, I wouldn’t be able to tell her daily I love her. That was 1963. That beautiful baby girl now has a son and 5 grandkids...... look at all I would have lost. I do remember hearing my name being called thru the haze of pain meds I was given. The one ‘mistake’ the owner and the nurse made was they didn’t realize I’m a lefty and they were trying to put an ink pen in my right hand to sign the papers of adoption. This is where my aunt comes in. She, in no uncertain words, explained very explicitly that ‘we aren’t giving our baby away’. My family was amazing. I was able to finish high school. But sadly my mom passed away the next year in same month of her birth when my baby girl turned a year. Watching programs like these makes me even more happy I got to raise her myself. Take care, Kate, theflutterby🦋, from Seattle....❤️🌈💕

Every time someone looks at a picture and quietly asks "may I keep this", I just find that moment so incredibly moving. It's as if that one tangible thing, a photograph, has filled so much emptiness and they can't quite allow themselves to believe this moment is finally here, and you know they're going to hang on to that photo for dear life. I just burst into tears evert time. Thank you for posting these precious episodes

That is the most moving moment for me as well. A simple photograph which we take so much for granted, becomes an instant treasure for these people. I love these episodes but every one of them makes me sad that women were treated this way for so many years. That having a baby out of wedlock was such a shameful thing for families that they sent their daughters away to give birth alone and hand their babies over to strangers after a few days, then return home and pretend that nothing happened. While most of the children were adopted into wonderful families and had great childhoods, they were all feeling lost and knew that something very important in their lives was missing. I would NEVER have sent one of my daughters away if this had happened to either of them - I would have allowed them to bring their baby home to raise.

The UK version of this show is gold standard. The whole production, cinematography & musical score are well-curated & how a proper docuseries should be. The sceneries of UK are breathtaking to look at. And the hosts Nicky & Davina are both perfect for this. I also love how considerate the whole production is if a not so good news is to be told & they respect anyone who doesn’t want to appear on camera. You can also feel the raw emotions. Not everyone who tragically loses their Mom at age 16 gets the chance to meet their "other" mother at age 49! And I think it was so thoughtful of Marc's birth Mother to make the effort to ensure he was adopted by a family with the same religion as her own. That makes their new connection even deeper, as he was raised in her faith, they have even more in common. And now they both have a whole new "bonus" family to get to know. Lucky!

Esther’s story is hard. Having survived the Holocaust her family basically condemned her to live a life of pain and separation when they should of know how that destroys lives. Forcing the children to pay the sins of the parents is heartbreaking
@myoldvhstapes Жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinking. Their lived experience should have made them less judgmental and intolerant. But it did not. Also, Judaism goes through the maternal line. Regardless of paternity, all children of Esther are considered Jewish. So her family's disapproval of the boyfriend would make no difference.

It’s so interesting to see that mostly adopted men have problems struggling with feeling rejected. while women often want to meet the bio mother to assure them that they are ok . And that they understand their mum made the greatest sacrifice, and how hard it must have been ,and hope that the mother is ok. Shows how different women and men are. ( to be clear I’ve also seen it the other way around, but this is what I’ve seen watching all these episodes)

What BEAUTIFUL souls the 2 mothers have! God Bless those 2 women who loved their precious babies and lived to be such strong women after having to give them up. Their 2 children are so beautiful as well!

It always surprises me to hear people say, are you joking or are you kidding me. Why would anyone come with false news to people who are clearly in pain...I just think it's a nervous reaction when they're told news that to them was probably far reached.

Guilt over what happened is a good thing in this case otherwise the conversation of it would not be possible...you didn't make a mistake, you made a human being is all that matters.

Watching your videos reminds me for my long lost brother. Actually I'm from Malaysia. On 31st July 1964 my brother went to England for further study in Oxford University. Untill today he never come back to Malaysia. We have lost contact many years already. His last letter to my mother.. he told us that he got married with a British lady and have a kid. After that until today he never come back and we lost contact. And I don't know how to find him. My mother missed him so much until she died few years ago. But I'm not losing hope to search for him. Maybe there's a way or clue for us ....... Thank you for all your videos that made me not and never give up ...

I've never seen a bad episode of LLF/UK. But this one is exceptional. For all of the "Experts" in this subject, they need to watch this one a few dozen times. As someone who has experienced much of this, you really don't know much at all.

Remember, they used to throw stones at the unwed mother. They never did that to the fathers. They usually didn't brag about it.

Funny how people in a religion that is so strong on family can so callously reject their own grandchild. Such hypocrisy

Mindy McNamara It wrecked to think of the suffering the family endured during the holocaust , maybe losing family and friends. And to turn their backs on a baby !! Embarrassment maybe , or the fact that the dad wasn’t Jewish . But the baby was already conceived . 👑 🕊

@@marycook1644 The baby Was Jewish. Jewishness is passed through the motherline. His father could have been a chimpanzee,and he would still have been Jewish. Many people have been very surprised to learn that they are technically Jewish because X times granny was
