I've got the 25 and I really enjoy how playful you can get with it.. One thing that I realised quickly was how easily the camera platform can pop off from the grommets in a crash. Easily solved by tying it on so that it doesn't rip off completely, but worth a mention! :) One thing that would tempt me for a 30 is the flight time.. Appreciate your reviews!

I fly the cl25. Bashed the crap out of em, they are pretty durable, broke just 1joint from all the crashes. And best of all, its easy to fix, just plastic weld them back together, and use a bit of cable tie as solder wire to add extra material on the broken joint. New skill acquired, all plastics can be fixed easily using soldering iron.

Nick, in all sincerity you have been super helpful to me with your honest reviews and instruction over the past couple of years. I'd like to give you a review on something I have some experience with, owning a pool. DON'T DO IT MAN! Especially with those trees and especially if your kids are getting close to high school age. They are money and time pits. Join a country club or take a cruise twice a year-it will be much cheaper. And if you join a country club you might even end up with another place to fly. I am joking a little bit, and you should get one if it is part of the family dream, but I can think of a lot of ways to better spend the money if I had to do it all over again. One more warning, you will likely want to screen the pool in at some point because of all the leaves, which will really mess up the back yard for flying quads. Thumbs up on expanding the BBQ area though. Oh, and if you do end up getting the pool, go salt water.
@NickBurnsFPV
@NickBurnsFPV 3 жыл бұрын
Yea, many of the same concerns I have had. We are members of a country club and my wife and girls do go pretty regularly.....when we have time. I hope it all turns out well, and we will have it covered unless its being used. The primary issue I had is that the cover be mechanized and only be used with a key.
@kurtzFPV
@kurtzFPV 3 жыл бұрын
@@NickBurnsFPV A mechanized cover sounds great. You don't see them down here in Florida too often. That the mechanized part be simple to use and fast would seem important as well. Things that are a pain to use usually don't get used very often, at least in my experience. Wishing you the best with it.

Thanks Nick. For cinewhooping indoors with a naked gopro, I dont know what is the advantage of the cinelog30 vs the cinelog25, which can fly through smaller gaps. At the same time, for carrying a full gopro, it has smaller motors than a pavo30, and doesnt have a 6s option unlike a squirt. So i dont understand what is so amazing about the cinelog30. Am I missing something?
@PabloDeBiasi

bigger props, so higher efficiency and longer flight times than the 25
@NickBurnsFPV
@NickBurnsFPV 3 жыл бұрын
I don't think the squirt is sold as a bnf, so that doesn't really fit the category, I haven't' flown the pavo30, can't really compare (I have been told the prop protection isn't very robust). 6s on a 3inch prop or less seems to be carrying more weight than needed and I don't know what the purpose would be as the increase in battery weight might not lead to more flight time on a 3inch or smaller prop, but can certainly make it more difficult to manage in aggressive flight.

I still need a full sized cinewhoop but really the only times I fly my Cinesplore are when I feel my naked gopro is in too much danger so feel a need to fly a full gopro. Otherwise I use my Cinelog25/naked combo for this type of flying, plus side they actually handle the wind better than a full ducted... to a point obviously.

I bought the cinelog 25. Wasn't at all impressed and stripped it for parts. 1, Far too noisy 2, underpowered 3, terrible yaw washout 4, the plastic whoops break very easy 5, the rubber grommets holding the camera mount pop out on the lightest of hits 6, At the time I had it the aio board wasn't compatible with express lrs 7, the vtx used didn't like the tbs module rolling screen. Rapid-fire works better. I think that's everything based on my experience 🤔 Any way great video Nick. Really enjoy watching them. Edit: oh and it comes with only the naked gopro mount..... would be nice to choose smo/instago etc
@swg_fpv
@swg_fpv 3 жыл бұрын
But, that's cinewhoops for you. Try an iflight protek35/bumblebee. It will be literally 3 times as noisy, just as underpowered (you want that for greater throttle resolution), and yeah, potentially the plastic/rubber camera tray grommets won't come out because it has none, but like, it's meant for flying smoothly around tight objects, not racing or crashing. Finally, you can easily make/design/3d print a tpu insta 360 go mount... I think you may have purchased this thinking it had a different purpose and different characteristics.

I have a cinelog25 and put on 5 bladed props so the fans don't have to spin as fast so it's quieter, but the motors get a bit hotter because they're pushing a bit harder to get the more prop surface area around. Put thread through the middle of the camera mounts and they don't come out. My drone doesn't feel underpowered, but came with the original 3750KV motors instead of 4500KV? I've broken a prop guard and I'm getting some different non-GEPRC ones that are hopefully less brittle.

I have wonder this since I started watching your videos, what’s the deal with the double fence between your house & the neighbors? I would think that a cine whoop would be safer with more traditional frame with the props up. I’m gonna guess the feels like temp was between 105 & 110
@NickBurnsFPV

The double fence is a bit new with the new neighbors. They decided to put the fence inside the other fence to make it easier to enclose for their dogs. They told me about their plans, while I thought it was a bit odd, its their property and their fence guy recommended it. They are super nice, and the are very close to their dogs. They aren't left outside for long. More guard would increase the safety factor also has a negative impact on flight. :(

@@breachr9386 It always a bit of a struggle to know if something is worth having two of a similar quad. In the case of prop guarded as non prop guarded they fly differently for sure. The babyhawk 2 hd doesn't have the safety of the prop protection, what is not there certainly can't break. The speed and aggressively flight abilities of the babyhawk 2 HD is much different than the cinelogs. Is it worth it I couldn't say. Nick I have a question I've not been able to get an answer to. Will I be able to balance a battery on a Cinelog 25 if I'm not running a naked gopro on the front? It looks like you can't really move the battery forward much because of the action cam mount. BTW I'm talking about the HD version. Thanks.

There is more risk to pushers. Something I initially pushed against. I think that a pusher "disclaimer" is needed on these. While the GEPRC products seem to be more reliable and these don't sit flush on the ground, but still very little clearance.

@@suatsekil The cinerace20 does have more performance than most of the other cinewhoops and is likely more durable due to lower weight and smaller size. Are you planning to film (HD Record) the flights inside? I ask as for most in fpv the most popular indoor drone is something like the mobula 6, mobula7 1s elrs, betafpv meteor65 pro. They are much smaller and lighter and much more capable of various types of flight inside.

It said I need to update the internenal rf...I tried to figure it out..many you tube videos..I did something wrong..now it says no receiver protocol...can't figure it out..my? Is should I just factory reset the SD card or can I just get a new card that has everything updated and I can get back to trying to get in the air.. it's killing me...over 1k in the hobby and I can't even get my TX16s to bind due to no protocol msg on internal rf settings. Any help is much appreciated. I've watched all your videos and am mesmerized by your piloting skills..Im hooked on fpv but I can't get through the steep learning curve you told me about...lol. hopefully someone can point me in a direction...any help is appreciated..im new and in S. Is the message displayed "no receiver protocol" or something different. I am not finding any reference to that precise message. Does it display this message without the sd card inserted? Typically when we have an error that references the sd card its a opentx version issue where we only need to update the contents of the sd card. But the message of no receiver protocol is throwing me off.

@@NickBurnsFPV yes. It says no receiver protocol when I am setting up internal rf. It will say off, I will select off ,it's supposed to change to multi and then so on to whatever receiver I'm binding to. And yes the SD card is inserted. It wouldn't let me bind to the frsky receiver in the t.h.2 said aetr module update needed. Sp I went to the open TX , attempted to update...and apparently did something wrong. Maybe just factory reset and go from there? I haven't even tried to bind my smart 35 again. It's crossfire. Idk. Maybe get a tango 2 and stick with crossfire quads. I believe the dji stuff is pretty simple..just go dji and then every quad will just have to have the air unit in it ..more $ but whatever, at least every time I purchase a quad I'm not going to have to put 7hrs of time in just figuring out how to bind it. @@NickBurnsFPV Sure. Fly it with an Osmo Action or One R. The biggest problem with the CineLogs is they're shown being flown with naked GoPros and SMO4Ks, which are pretty flimsy. One crash and they break. I understand this is the tradeoff. If you want to get better performance, you have to shave weight, and that usually means giving up sturdiness. But this is why whoops are still a thing. They are built to last...or at least last longer than your average drone. And they can take on the weight of a full sized action camera, which will take more abuse than a naked one.

@@k1ortiaFlight times are a HUGE variable. Depends on the battery size flown and the flight style. If you look at my flights it might be 3min on a 550mah, where someone else flying the same space could get 4mins, I can actually get 75% more flight time if flight time is my goal, generally my goal is to fly faster and have those hard 180 turns and punchouts over the house. Flight time is something each individual viewer has to weight what they see in a flight verses how they fly.

I think it's enforced at the USA too, eventually. Japan is even more limited, sub200g and radio licence to broadcast video at 5,8ghz is required . . OR ELSE. So, we still have it easy.
