All I can say is AWESOME. I have been trying to learn C4D for the last few months but have gotten nowhere. Listening and watching your video just made sense. Could you recommend some training channels or courses that follow your training method for beginners into C4D? I was able to replicate your mic pattern but do not know any fundamentals and a bit over my old head 😂

thanks, George. Glad it was helpful. I'll provide more workflow tutorials in the new year. Also working on a masterclass course with my teaching style with 3 main sections beginner, advanced and bonus.

I remember Chris tutorial. In fact I make one following his tutorial. But this was many years ago. Remember that mesh is heavy, but result was fine. Thanks for tutorial. I hope you make more of this C4D "hack" tutorials in future. ..... Happy Christmas and New Year.

I’m having issues when doing mics with two halves that are more square. Check out the Neumann U 87 Ai condenser mic for example. I have issues with the cloth folding properly. I have the geo on its side as it folds better but still get creases.

Awesome results using a very creative approach. Thanks. I had to create some expanded metal mesh some time ago and like you I found that looking at the actual physical process is what made it possible to get it done properly :) What's you've got here is a _great_ technique though - virtual molding, frickin' awesome.

Excellent video! If possible, could you please show the full modeling process without skipping any steps? I noticed that the cloth simulation was not included in this video, and it would be incredibly helpful to see it in detail. Thank you!

usually the client is providing the construction data (CAD) so I only added the wire grille in this case. I modeled the classic mic for the intro shot but I'd rather not reveal too much of the CAD data in this case. I did post the settings screenshot of the clot animation to the community tab here on KZbin if you want to check that out. There will be a dedicated tutorial video with the most effective techniques and strategies for modeling. I'm also preparing a masterclass course so stay tuned for any updates on that end.

Hello, I am a subscriber from South Korea. I'm using the 2023 version of C4D. But what are the tags next to korb FORM and korb collider? No matter how hard I searched, I couldn't find it in the 2023 version. And is it true that you cached the cloth tag? There are some difficulties in implementing it because the versions are different. Your video is awesome! thank you!

great vid - but you left out a step. I noticed a difference in the mesh you created for the tutorial and the mesh you had when you started the simulation section. The first part of the tutorial creates a mesh with no "over under" happening, it doesn't weave properly. What you left out was that your cloner needs 2 formula splines - the second is rotated 180* on the pitch (make sure to turn off reset coordinates on your cloner) - THEN create your instance, rotate heading 90 and pitch 180 and drop in your connect for the sweep.

There seems to be something that changes at 5:00 when you go to your finalized rig. Every other clone in one direction is flipped/rotated 180 degrees. Which isn't shown on the initial setup. Am I missing something?
@ACARELcom
@ACARELcom 14 күн бұрын
What I'm demonstrating at 3:19 should achieve that result, every other clone / spline flipped and rotated. Does that work?
@bluerockrendering
@bluerockrendering 14 күн бұрын
@@ACARELcom It doesn't seem to. On your setup at 5:02, if you look at just the wires going in the X direction, every other one is flipped. Which is how the weave should be. But just putting them in a cloner doesn't achieve that and I cant figure out what step I'm missing.
@ACARELcom
@ACARELcom 14 күн бұрын
@@bluerockrendering are you following the steps exactly as shown? Because I'm rotating the instance twice to achieve exactly what you are describing. Conter movement of every other spline for the weave pattern.
@bluerockrendering
@bluerockrendering 14 күн бұрын
@@ACARELcom Ok, I just had to make a cloner of the first cloner and offset it a little bit. Then put both in a null, make a clone of the null, and rotate it. If that makes sense, lol. Regardless, I think I figured it out. Awesome approach nonetheless! and its equally awesome you got Sennheiser as a client. I am a musician and have many Sennheiser products and I think I'm going to start modeling/ rendering for practice.

@@bluerockrendering awesome, glad it worked. Nice, I'm a musician as well. Hobbyist though. That's probably why I was a good fit as a 3D Motion Designer for Sennheiser.

Don't quite get it how the mesh deformer works in your example. If I use just a plane as the deformer it doesn't work, seems like it wants something that encloses the mesh to be deformed. It also doesn't work on an instance at all, only on the original mesh.
@ACARELcom
@ACARELcom Ай бұрын
the mesh deformer and the instance must be in the same null. The plane is set as the driver object under the mesh defomer as demonstrated.
