@@eyedesyn I'm not done with this exercise. I'm trying to get X-Particles to emit some capsules to create a continuous stream of drips. I'd also like to get some drips to hit from above with some dynamics. It took me a long time to get the Insydium Bridge to work this morning though. They don't tell you that you have to create a plugin folder for R20 and then set the path to that folder in preferences.

XParticles is definitely a great way to take this concept to the next level! Good luck!

@@eyedesyn Ok, I have to admit, I got a little obsessed over this one. media.giphy.com/media/39u26m9Dl06YKFVYu0/giphy.gif I don't like that some of the Volume Builder animation is a little jittery. This could be a bit of a problem in the future. I had to do a reshape layer on the bottom skull emitters that are dripping stuff from the skull mouths. I also had an issue that the render would stop around frame 140. When I started a second render from that point the X-Particles emission wouldn't start from the first frame. There was definitely some odd things going on but I learned a lot about the object order and hierarchy in the Volume Builder how to finesse the settings. The next thing I need to get used to is how to get different colors going within the same Volume builder. Chris Schmidt has a good demo on that around 40 minutes into this video. greyscalegorilla.com/tutorials/askgsg-c4d-r20-siggraph/

Thanks for the great tutorial. Even though I mainly use Iclone I still love my Cinema 4d. One of the reasons is I love mograph. And I want to learn mograph real well. This tutorial being so in-depth and concise really advances my knowledge of mograph. I just wish there was a real time renderer that would render R20 mograph at blazing speeds. I will keep waiting. Thanks again for sharing 😊

Rendering speed is only going to get better and faster, that's for sure! I'm not sure how well Redshift, Octane, etc works with R20 but I hope in a couple years we won't be complaining much about rendering speeds anymore!

Anyone know how to speed up viewport playback in c4d? He talks about the mesher setting that reduces polys, but i would like to see something closer to the final product. ty
@AgarioSplitrunner
@AgarioSplitrunner 3 жыл бұрын
The playback rate is set in the options menu for the timeline - there's a button which looks like a vertical filmstrip at the extreme right of the timeline control palette. Depending on your hardware and the complexity of the animation you may have to disable Play All Frames before setting the speed - Cinema will then drop frames to try and match the speed.
