The add walk button doesn't work for me. Even when I try it on the sample rigs. It makes the CMotion object but it doesnt link everything up like it does in this tutorial. Ive tried on MAC and PC. Any idea whats wrong?

Unfortunately no, you’d have to go through the traditional rigging process or use Mixamo. The limbs all being separated makes it really easy to rig using Bendy Limbs!

Great idea, folks. Unfortunately the rig deforms and offsets the objects when I put them in the control objects folders. It completely messes up the character... Working in R19.

Like if I have to rig fingers along with bendy limbs rig, is there any way to do that? If there is it would be great if you can make a tutorial for that as well :)

Fingers is really complicated and not feasible for this rig, but we will add preset hands and arms that are pre-rigged. It's best to go the traditional route for fingers because its so many bones in such a small area.

Loving the rig and c motion. Is the c motion purely for walk cycles or can you keyframe the walk cycle to ease into a stop so the character could perform another action?

It's purely for procedural walk cycles but you could bake it as a Motion Track and blend it into different poses from say Mixamo?

A few things you skipped. You add the Character tag and the first thing you get is Root. You press that then it asks what kind of build i chose IK then it goes to arm leg head etc and then you move to the adjust tag. yea just small details but import for people that are completely unfamiliar. I get that your an expert but don't skip stuff just because you know it doesn't mean we do.

Finger rig is not coming to bendy limbs because it's not feasible, but we are workign on a set of pre-rigged hand/arm assets for a future update!

For walk cycles you can get more control over it, you can also get more control over Mixamo animations using the new Mixamo Control Rig in C4D R21!

Hi Jessica, this happened to me. I think it was because I made the rig in an older version of bendy limbs then updated then tried to add walk. Long story short I ended up redoing the rig and it worked fine

I wouldn’t go that route as you don’t actually save that much time vs traditional rigging. You’d need to make vertex maps to limit each FFD so again that’s more like traditional weighting

This is only for characters with separated limbs, for single mesh character you'd go the normal rigging & weighting routes

The rigging of Bendy Limbs itself works fine but, on the other hand, the CMotion doesn’t work with the Bendy Limbs for me since when I clicked the “Add Walk” in the object tab after the rig was done, nothing happened at all. I don't think so as CMotion overrides manual stuff like that, you may need to bake out the animation of everything and then manually adjust the motion of individual parts!

This is great! I did have one question you may be able to help out with: after rigging with Bendy Limbs and adding a walk cycle, the arms remain stiff and stretched out downwards. They swing, but they do not bend at all. I've tried trouble shooting the rigging and some of the arm controls, but I cannot seem to find a solution. Do you have any ideas on what I may be doing incorrectly? Thanks

If you rig the character using the Character Object, yes! But it can't add to prerigged characters unless you have the Mixamo Control rig in C4D R21

It depends on your knowledge of cinema 4d. This method is used to move a parent object without moving it's children.

This is only for characters that have separated limbs, if you want to rig a single mesh character, there's no other option than typical rigging workflows

Ah, I seemed to be in Model mode and keyframed the controllers that way. That did not work. Keyframing the controllers in Object mode does work - guess I missed that in the tutorial!
