Using spheres for a collider for the chain link to get faster simulations is killer trick! Great demo. The only C4D tutorial creator I don't have to increase playback speed 😉

Thanks Chris! This tute saved me from a ton of headaches trying to develop a product animation. I just went through this and after some trial and error, my chain is working beautifully!

Best cinema chains tutorial. I was searching for this long ago. I made chains simulation with bend and twist deformers. The dinamic tutorials before this wasn't work for me and my prehistoric PC. Thanks

Chris seriously cracked the dynamics code, his brain has a very clear blueprint of how it all works together.

Great useful tutorial bro. What is the monitor model and size. Tell me.. Please.

Hello, thanks for perfect video. Works great! I now need to put a protection sleave parcially over the chain for the animation of a skip loader. It protects the container not to get scretched. Could you please give me a hint how you would add a sleave to part of the chain? So that it somewhat also moves dynamic? Thanks a lot for you help in advance ... Best Regards

Great tutorial. I've been trying to model a disc golf basket and would love to know how to set the initial state of chains, to something other than a straight line.
@RocketLasso4 жыл бұрын
Cloning along a spline or possible you can run it a few frames then in the Dynamics Tag "Set Initial State"
@aleph6184 жыл бұрын
@@RocketLasso Thanks. I'll give clone on a spine a try.
@aleph6184 жыл бұрын
@@RocketLasso Cloning on a spline worked, but it doesn't give you the option to have a rotation per step. I fixed it by having a second link object in the cloner.

Great tutorial! Any idea on how to turn this into ropes instead?
@colonelfreelance25613 жыл бұрын
Hi Edvin ! You should stop the tutorial at around 16 min. Then select your cloner, and create a tracer object with your cloner selected. Setup your tracer to "connect all object". Then put your tracer in a sweep with a n side shape. Then you have ropes :)

How is this achieved if you have two different types of links in one chain?
@lazarstanisic66243 жыл бұрын
yea but how to render them?
