This interview is great Jared. Really awesome to see a player like Rick McCallum embracing DSLRs as a wave of the future, which they truly are. This has really paved the way for us cinematographers to finally shoot in a DV rebel way, but get real Hollywood results. :)

Rick is sharp- embrace the technology- being an owner of the RED camera- the 5d FREAKED me out when I reviewed the quality- I think I ordered the 5d within 1 hour of seeing the footage. We cut it with the RED all the time. .However it is still a B camera- the technology is still a little fresh- but i embrace to the max. A great story, gaffer, optics, and focus puller are much more important to me on set than the camera itself. i have seen stuff that blows my mind shot on a dvx100..
