Cool song. Not heard this in ages. I love rediscovering old bands. Still sounds just as dark and demented now as it did back when it came out :)

I always say it's not truly about the title it's about the music. Original goths and deathrockers cared about the music any day over the titles/genres, that came after. It's all beautiful!

Batcave was an european version of Deathrock, but really, they are different, since Batcave is inspired by the european post-punk bands such as The Cure and Bauhaus, where as the american scene was more inspired by the punk scene. Though, the too genres is pretty close, but there are differences. Personally, i think it's interesting historically, but it's not that important.
@Shuei512 жыл бұрын
Well, as I said, it's interesting historically, as it shows the inspiration for the music and the musical development of the artists, but all in all, it's not important. I like it all, and it doesn't matter much if you call it, and wether or not it's "correct". So I agree, it's all beautiful, and there's no reason to focus on genres when you make the music.
Everything by Cinema Strange just sounds like a dodgy horror film from the 60s or something's soundtrack to me. I mean DODGY.

Yeah, but you have to keep in mind that they're no two good bands are going to be the exact same. They're going to use similar musical traits since they are the same genre with a different name. Predominant bass, harmonizing vocals, tribal beats, with a very unique palm muted distortion guitar. That's how you tell how to distinguish Deathrock (which Cinema Strange fits all of those).

Everybody gets way too hung-up on genre labels. The original bands that got later classified as Goth or Deathrock began in the late 70's before either label existed. Those early bands all formed independent of each other with similarities in style. Those early bands were not as limited stylistically as the bands that came later in the 80's. The labels Goth and Deathrock mean something different than they did in 1979. Seek out Theatre of Ice and Christian Death, they originated deathrock.
