This movie makes my heart run fast, as i am watching it all comes back memories of my own story, as young girl in Mogadishu when the War began. I have lost my parents and a only brother and i was orphaned as the result. A year later trapped in the burning city hopeless and scared,me and some relatives who was caring for me finally got the chance to leave. We arrived in Kenya although I have never being in the refugee camp,I had terrible experience in Kenya, Kenya wasn't welcoming Country and the police were going door to door hunting immigrants, although i was living with family members who were Kenyan citizens, with no document in hand we scapped once more to South Africa, and lived there for 13 years, from there i immigrated to the United States, but recently came back to homeland Somalia 🇸🇴 So this's not a movie, but really and result of War torn people, it doesn't matter where they call home, war is terrible thing, may God help those who are in similar situations 🙏

I had no idea what this movie was going to be about, I just clicked on it while looking for something to watch. It hurts so much to watch it I can hardly continue. I am an American living in Africa for 18 years now, I am white of European decent but grew up in a village in Alaska. So living in the villages here in Africa, in the middle of no where wasn’t strange to me. I had never heard of FGM so many years ago when I first came here. It was horrific and shocking to find out that my sister-in-laws were going through FGM, it was not made illegal yet, in fact it wasn’t that long ago that the country i live in now actually prosecuted people committing this crime. It’s better I don’t mention the country. I listened to my sister in laws stories and i can’t tell you how upset i was and crying, and I’m not even the one that had it done to me. I am a foreigner to a village that no foreigner had ever been to before, so it’s not like I’m going to stand up and say stop all this now in front of everyone, that would have been dangerous to my life. No one talks about this here much and I still live here, and finally over the last maybe 4 years they have really started to prosecute anyone who does FGM here, although I know some still do it. My husband became a doctor and he’s very good at educating people against this horrific tradition, he’s not afraid to speak out about it, after all he had to hear the screams of his sisters when they were going through FGM, he was so young. At that time, all I could do was be there for them silently. It’s amazing how many uneducated people there are that think FGM has anything to do with Islam. It is a cruel and horrific crime committed on women against their will by men trying to gain power and control for their own will.

No matter what hardships you face, never give up. I hope you find the strength to overcome your experiences and remember that everything is temporary, not permanent. Fardowsa from Utah ❤️❤️❤️

It's important to raise awareness about this issue and work towards ending such harmful cultural practices which is even opposing Islamic teachings. Together we fight all bad cultures for happier life.

It's just like you're an angel sent to inform and save girls of countries practicing FGM. This is my first time to know about FGM and very blessed to be educated about this. I support your campaign to No FGM. May the Good Lord blessed you with your beautiful advocacy and protect you as you go on with your journey ❤👏 A woman watching your video from Manila, Philippines 🇵🇭

This story touched my heart. Although I left somalia at a young age to Dadaab refugee camp, I can still relate everything. 😢😢😢
What’s it like in those camps? I’m sorry to ask. I’ve seen pictures and thousands of people were just sitting on the ground, some holding their starving children. We Americans, even the poorest of us, should never complain about anything. Damn. 😞

Such a phenomenal movie, kudos to the cast. I felt every scene. The world needs more people like Ifhran and Her story and activism, to encourage and impact the new generation to do better. FGM is also a menace in my country Nigeria, I cannot say if I was a victim, but I know both boys and girls who were in south-Easth Nigeria. same as ,Tribal marks in The North and west, ill treatment of widows, and forcefull child marriages(Child brides) in the North. all in the name of tradition. I look forward to breaking the barrer & making an impact someday, one step at a time . From Nigeria 🇳🇬, I say I Stand against FGM and all gender-based violence against the girl child and women in general. Together we can. I am, Oma Zaroff-Njoku

i know its a continent trust me, but I ALSO know Africa is extremely SPIRITUALLY DARK due to all the demonic, deity worshiping that goes on there, including ( but NOT limited to) the butchering of women's vaginas and the breaking of their spirit at a very young age! Let's not pretend the TRUTH doesn't exist because you and those like you choose your emotions over what GOD has ordained.
