"Why would you keep writing a book you’re tired of writing?" Doyle could have simply stopped writing, despite the pleas from eager fans. That would have been fine. He didn't need to kill of Holmes. Killing off a main character for a good reason is fine, but killing them off because you're tired of writing them or just can't thing of anything interesting to with them is lame, especially because later you end up retconning their death when you've got new ideas for the character.

American Turkeys were already commonplace throughout Europe by the mid 1500s thanks to a man by the name of William Strickland, who was so beloved for his introduction of the turkey to Europe that his award of arms involved the blazon of a turkeyfowl.

True they were commonplace, however... www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-humber-20672110 Strickland is said to have continued in the turkey trade and is reputed to have made so much money that he was able to build a stately home in Boynton, near Bridlington, East Yorkshire. The current owner of Boynton Hall is Richard Marriott, a descendant of Strickland. "Unfortunately, there is no real proof that he was the original man who brought the turkey into England," he said. "He is reputed to have sailed with one of the Cabots out of Bristol, but unfortunately we cannot make the facts fit the story. "I am sure there must be something there which links him more positively with the story of the turkey but it is very, very difficult to pin down a provable historical fact." Strickland seemed keen to promote the story, adopting the turkey as the family crest in 1550.

There is actually nothing wrong in the fight scene and subsequent death of Moriarty, and Sherlock faking his own death, IF you know the source material. Truth is, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a bit fed up with writting Sherlock Holmes' stories, so he killed him during a fight with Moriarty, where they both fell off a cliff. Later, du to the pression of the readers, he had to find a way to bring Sherlock back to write more stories. Nothing wrong either with the secret room. Sherlock has demonstrated many times that kind of observation skills in the books. Shit, even I demonstrated that kind of observation skills on a few occasions, it's not THAT amazing. However, the incorrect flag and time-displaced pistol were not sinned, the turkey was sinned despited it being commonly found in Europe for about 2 centuries before the story's time... Get your shit together, Cinemasins ! I know you're nitpicking assholes, but you used to nitpick about relevant things, while this is just lazy.
@codelad19236 жыл бұрын
I'll never fully enjoy a Sherlock TV show or movie. In the books you get details and logical thought processes. In the movies it's just said that they made some observation or deduction. In the books the real magic for me is the explnation and the fact that if I reread I realize I could've made the same deductions myself in some cases.

They didn't think through their joke very well. The two movies didn't mention the word "cocaine", but it's pretty clear that Holmes is supposed to be using the stuff. Coca leaves when cooked to be caramelized are eaten in south america to help ward off altitude sickness, and can make you quite hyper when too many are consumed. One of the most stupid things about this film is the way they depict the travel route from Paris to Germany. As a German, I can tell you, to see mountains like this you would choose a route that's equivalent to going from LA to Santa Fe first in order to get to San Francisco, borrowing from a metaphor from your first Sherlock Holmes sins video.

luckyinugirl they announced a third movie when A Game Of Shadows came out. It’s just that they weren’t able to shoot it yet because of RDJ’s busy schedule and because they had trouble figuring out a satisfying plot that would do the previous movies (and the cliffhanger) justice and not taint their Sherlock Holmes franchise. The third movie is set to release in December 2021 so they’ll probably already start the production this year. In that case RDJ will be 55/56 years old during the shooting, which is a somewhat old age but I don’t think it would exhaust him too much. After all he’s done a lot of his Iron Man/Sherlock Holmes stunts thus far and he’s regularly practiced Martial Arts for about 20 years now so it’s save to say he probably stayed fit enough to portray such a physical role despite his age.

Jeez Jeremy, you really don't like these movies I think they give the character a well deserved twist by exploring his mentioned physical feats that were actually hinted in the novels. After so many damn iterations of the character throughout the years this is a welcomed change. Plus, the cast's chemistry and the antagonist is freakin awesome.
