FWIW I know now that I enjoy letting go in a well-made movie and going along for the ride. Well after, your take on those movies has been awesome to get, perhaps especially for making me slow down and consider things from a different perspective. Which is invariably kind and respectful of the process and the people involved. Ever may it be thus. Cheers from Brisbane on a balmy evening.

A great insight into the WORLD of editing and the creative use of filmed scenes and where to arrange them or 'put them' into the film. They can be used in a much different 'place' than they were originally intended. WHO KNEW?? Thank you for the video. Very interesting!

I've almost never rewatched superhero movies, even when I liked them and I even grew up on DC and Marvel, but I've seen Constantine once a year ever since it came out. It's such a good film. I wish he made more of them, if only to have more of Peter Stormare as the Devil, God what a performance.

Gabriel's little speech about bringing humanity horror so they can rise above it inspired me as a writer. If you bring people to their lowest letting them soar feels twice as sweet.

It's an interesting point, especially given the way so many shows and movies have been written and made in more recent times. It seems that many creators have forgotten that there needs to be give and take in a story to make the watcher identify with a character. If you write a character so that they never experience any lows, the highs never feel as high. While a story about an obviously overpowered character who never has any downsides can itself be a good story, not every story benefits from that sort of thing. People identify with things they're familiar with, even in ridiculous out-there sci-fi and fantasy stories.

I find it so fascinating, the whole movie process. One guy has a vision, and it morphs and spawns and regurgitates in the minds of so many others to become something more, something with form where once there was only the slight scent of a vapor. To be a writer and see their words transformed on film, must be the most incredible thing ever. I will never stop loving movies.

Children, this is why we can't have nice and different things. Because fans who can't experiment and appreciate different yet still great pieces of work who diminish any creativity. Exhibit A.

Just found this and thank you. This is one of my favorite movies. Everyone did fantastic in it and the director did such a good jobs with the edits. That ending scene though, they make you think he's going to light a cigarette and puts gum in his mouth instead. Just hits so nicely. I hope they make a second one especially after the clip that went around of them asking Keanu if he could make any sequal, it would be this one.

You have Tim Burton's Batman to know that author versions can be popular even if they don't stick to anything in the comic books. The MCU is different from the comics and it was not only immensely popular, but at the same time they didn't increase comic book readership.

Oh, no 0:19 I have woke up from nightmares, many many times. But never this way. When I wake up having a spasm (due to an awful nightmare) I feel as if I was compressing myself against the bed, which is completely different from what we see in movies. Have any of you woke up (from a nightmare) like in the movies? Just wondering, because this thing is in SO many films. For me this looks so artificial. Please directors. script writers, etc, stop it.
