There's something about this particular movie franchise that makes me truly feel just... blah about the whole thing knowing these characters fought as hard as they did and not one of them made it out. Normally with horror I wouldn't care, cause you know.. it's horror. But with this in particular it's like.. knowing they fought that hard for nothing almost makes it not even worth watching. Not sure why I feel that way here but I really, really do.
@DuskEalain Жыл бұрын
What bothers me is the ending relies on plot contrivances and the runners suddenly playing stupidly in order to work. Of _course_ the trailer owner is in on it for some reason despite that never being established. Of _course_ when Herschel is grieving they _run away_ instead of killing two birds with one stone and getting a gun out of it when they've ruthlessly killed his son two seconds prior. If the family genuinely outsmarted the runners the ending wouldn't be as bad, but the fact they basically had to "nerf" them for (what appears to be) shitty sequel bait ruins the entire thing.
@sulven Жыл бұрын
yesss i was really rooting for melanie to escape, since she went through all that pain, but the ending js felt really empty??
@chibiwolf1005 Жыл бұрын
@@DuskEalain yes exactly! The characters felt smart enough that they could have figured out certain common sense answers, like testing the fence with something instead of just running into it and getting electrocuted. Or like you said.. killing two birds with one stone AND getting a gun out of it. That sounds pretty easy. You kill the gig in charge and his daughter and you ruin their entire operation. And these characters seemed smart enough to do it. But they dumbed everyone down by the end so that they few who were left alive had no chance. Idk it just makes the whole thing feel wrong and badly done I guess.
@chibiwolf1005 Жыл бұрын
@@sulven yes I agree.. to have the two characters that had a chance to get out both still alive but caught once again just seemed like it went the opposite direction of what it should have, and like.. “well I watched all of this and saw how hard they fought but now we’re back here anyway.”

Here's some methods I'd use 1) Pretend - I would pretend I am still out cold and would free the others so when one of them came by to check on me another of my mates could pounce on him . And I'd torture him brutally on information on the traps and their location and so on maybe he'd even have a cellphone or know where to find one . 2)Navigation - Since the moon reflects the sun's light, its bright side will be 'pointing' to the direction of the sun, ie. approximately east or west. The line that joins the horns of a crescent moon together is at right-angles to this east/west line and any line that is perpendicular to an east/west line must be a south/north line.but do with that information as you will . 3)Drug -I would find all the chloroform and anesthesia I could lay my hands on especially ones stored as gas so I'd try to get the entire family in the barn to release the gas and quietly lock them in. What I do with them after is irrelevant as the question would be whether I would be nice enough to kill them first . 4) Fire trap - I would use the fuel from the motorcycle to douse a circle of crops in fuel and then I would get someone to scream loudly when they show up to the epicenter of the circle I would use the ignition mechanism of the motorcycle to light the fire . I wouldn't use the motorcycle itself as it is loud and noisy making me a target not to mention a hundred traps . 5) Demands - when they held Herschel's son they should have got him to drop his weapon back away only for me to take his weapon and execute him and his son . I would use his horse later . Although it has to be done fast lest that archer get wind and kill us from afar 6) Trailer - When I saw the trailer I'd pull a trick to get them out and steal and drive off assuming the keys are right there . I am not trusting anyone anymore.

One thing I'd do is set fire to the cornfield in the direction the wind is blowing there by gaining a heap of attention while putting the captors in a perilous situation. Also the corn itself is an under utilised asset as there is plenty of it and it can be used as food, a distraction and hurled at the captors to throw them of guard especially Hershal and his daughter as they'd need to keep their weapons steady to be able to use the properly and if Melanie had thrown the corn at Hershal while he was on his horse it'd give her enough time too run closer to him stopping Gemma from firing her arrows in case she missed and hit her father.

Dude corn is vicious to run through bc the leaves are actually edged in silica aka glass 😳 That aside, one thing to use to my advantage is freezing and staying low to the ground. Corn grows very thickly and it’s easy to hide in. Humans do not have good night vision and rely on the movement of our target to help us find them in the dark, this is why we frantically move the mouse icon on the computer back and forth when we can’t find it. But by staying low and moving carefully, you can find and avoid traps while avoiding being caught bc the thick leaves of the cornstalks Will hide you. And if everyone else is focused on the runners that are, ya know, actually running, then I have a better chance bc all the attention is away from me. I would still of course grab a weapon from the barn before making my escape

They could have tried scaring the horses. No matter how well trained a horse is, they will always be pray animals. Just running up towards one of them while screaming might get the horse to jump back. Or you could hide in the corn and jump out screaming right behind or in front of them. A fall from a horse can be deadly, and the killers are not wearing any safety equipment at all. I would also try and catch the horse before they get too far. Just like with the motorbike, having a horse would speed up the escape by a ton, if you know what you are doing. Otherwise, maybe leave the horse alone. They are not as docile as media likes to pretend. ^^"
@lunaeclipse7717 Жыл бұрын
Id say its definitely worth going after the horse but only if it has a cart or something attached- without proper saddle etiquette, itll be hard to bareback a horse especially unexperienced, but if theres a cart theyll likely be well trained, docile horses and so will do as told easy

"... There are 208 feet in an acre." That might be _mostly_ true, but you're forgetting that an "acre" is a square measurement. That means that, of a square, each side is 208 feet. It's not a linear (1D) measurement, so an acre is actually 208ft×208ft. That also means you could have one dimension be 1 foot but the other side is super long. If I tell you that I have something that is 9ft², it could mean I have a 3ft×3ft square or a 1ft×9ft rectangle, or anything that totals 9ft². It's kind of a moot point, but if there are "90 acres between them and freedom" then there are a LOT of vary different interpretations to that because it's not a linear measurement. A foot is a linear measurement, as is a mile.

If they were to throw the motorcyclist into the corn and wear his clothing with the faceguard down they could even surprise attack other members of the family who they come across. There's also that rebar. If it's long enough it works as a tripwire tripping device. If the woman who walked into the tripwire trap had instead been walking forwards with the bar extended sweeping it up and down then the near invisible in the night tripwire would have still been tripped and the alarm would have gone off but no one would have been caught and they all could have escaped together.
