I enjoy your videos, but your comment about focal length and lenses "looking expensive" is just monumentally wrong. People can't perceive if a lens is expensive and DP's and directors choose lenses for numerous reasons that have nothing to do with its cost.

Absolute right, but maybe the guy is referring to the soft focus look and believes (wrongly ...) that it can only be achieved with focal lengths over 50mm...?
@afloox4 жыл бұрын
That's true. :) As a freelance wedding photographer wedding/portrait photographer I shoot long lenses wide open to look more professional. Not because the background compression / bokeh. :) The thing is you need decent photography/strobist knowledge/experience which makes one understand how lenses and lights work even in 3d space.
@AdamPripzMedia4 жыл бұрын
@@DucaSimonLuchini But that would still be wrong. You can easily buy 16mm lens with a shallow depth of field. But to achieve the "perfect" "soft-focus look" you need a full-frame censor
@DucaSimonLuchini4 жыл бұрын
@@AdamPripzMedia Mate, "perfect" doesn't exist in this world (otherwise what should be defined Vistavision, Cinemascope 55, 70mmm...). Anyway, you are right about the sensor size, but the KZbinr didn't talk about any sensor size..., and don't forget that anyway he was speaking about a 3D software Camera, not real Camera...
@AdamPripzMedia4 жыл бұрын
@@DucaSimonLuchini I know that there is no perfect, that is why I wrote ("perfect"). But he is referring to real-life cameras :)

Focal length doesnt determine the price and value of the lens Arthur. A wide angle lens can be more expensive than a tele too. What determines the price is its Resolution, Aperture, Quick AF, built and other features like Stabilization. :)
@samymerad67384 жыл бұрын
It's also determined by the number of lenses inside the lens.

Increase the samples slightly and search for "octane render settings optimisation" on google or youtube.

You’ve got to know the theory first before technical stuff. Basics like composition, lighting and animation.
