I have never in my life seen a boom fail so catastrophically as it did 7 minutes and 10 seconds in. Glad you’re OK.

What I learnt from this video... (1) just wet down the road. (2) Use warm practicals on the house or neon on shops or car headlights to see the reflection of these on the wet road. (3) Wash the front of house and trees with moonlight with big lamps far away to receive the equal moonlight everywhere on the front of the house and trees and not making any hot spots if you keep those big lamps near the house/trees for getting moonlight. If possible shoot these big lamps through sim branchloris to create some shadows on the house to create light... shadows...light... shadows (light...dark...light...dark). (4) Salt and pepper the shot with low key lighting (light...dark...light...dark). (5) If budget allows then backlight the image with moonlight and haze using big HMI lamps (6) Use colour contrast with moonlight and warm practicals. (7) Have street light with sodium vapour or warm tungsten for colour contrast against blue moonlight. (8) Uplight the trees with warm lights from the front. (9) Inside the room install the lights over the window to accentuate the moonlight coming through window to reach the talent on the bed and creating an edge on the talent. A warm practical (table lamp) could be switched on for colour contrast. (10) At night/dark scenes always have an eye light.

It was magical that you said " ...cause I don't want to go outside..." when I was just thinking " As soon as this video is over, all the way to the end over, I have to go outside and I don't want to..." . Spooky man...Otherwise the end kinda ran out of steam, which was jarring contrast after the scintillating dynamism of the preceding content.

What is a wetdown Edit: Oh I see. You mean soak the subject in water so you get better reflections. On productions do they just mist it so it doesn't pool? How much of that exterior do you think was moistened for the shot? I'll make sure to hose down my protagonist every time I shoot in the dark.
