Ladies and gentlemen: actual advice about cinematography on KZbin

I think this your best video on your channel. It really shows the actual challenges you are up against when preparing for a shoot and make decisions. Thank you so much for this!

thank you for your videos, I got all of your courses exept the foundation course. All necessary info what I needed to start I got, now need just to practice more. p.s. Mastering exposure is the best course witch I ever took. I had it all by intuition before, but after taking your courses I prepare for shooting as a system and it helps me to controll time and money and footage is much better. the only thing what is left for me is only taking a grammar workshop in English.

I've got my eye on that mastering exposure course! Thanks for the opinion!

Really great breakdown but also one thing that worked really well is asking questions and taking that breath allowing me to pause the video and think about how how to actually solve it with a list of tradeoffs before continuing on and just being given the answer.

Your videos have leveled up my work in a ridiculously short amount of time. It honestly pisses me off bc I’ve learned more actually helpful processes and strategy from you than in my 4 years of film school. Thank you for sharing your experience and insight. Excuse me while I head on over to patreon to do what I should’ve done 6 months ago😂

This is so good. Thanks for the breakdown, love seeing the process alongside the final results and the thinking behind the decisions.

I had to pause the video at 15:57 to google why you would draw the sun going TO THE LEFT. I was 34 years old when I learned that the sun moves in the other direction on the other side of the globe. It makes perfect sense, just something I never thought about.

What about the Virtual Production/LED screens? Wouldn't that solve the sunrise/sunset problem. You can basically solve the location problem also and have 10 hours of sunrise or sunset. Maybe even finish it before schedule.

Thank you, great teaching! Just a quick note on your new course - when I click the link in the video description my browser tells me that it´s not safe and interrupts the connection. I think this might be because there´s probably the "s" missing in the link - there´s "http" instead of "https".

@@wanderingdp So it's 2005 or before apps existed. I suppose, depending on your geography, you would have tide charts/hunting/fishing guides as a starting point but I can't figure how this would have been done without sending someone out to the shooting location predawn and hang out all day noting where the sun was all throughout the day. Am I missing something?
