These scripts were pure dynamite, and the cast was absolutely fantastic. It’s a shame they didn’t follow up with a season two.

As Arte Johnson used to say, "Verrrry interesting !" I recall when this mini series was shown but I wasn't able to watch it. I can only recall Cliff and Jason Robards Jr from the TV ads shown before it was broadcast. Till now, I didn't know the cast also included Andy Griffith. Thank you so much for sharing this interesting and intriguing clip !!

I've always thought "Washington Behind Closed Doors" was the nearest the Americans ever came to making something like "I, Claudius".

Great to see Griffith playing an unsympathetic character ... shades of 'Face in the Crowd'

If you want to see him play an unsympathetic character, check out his performance in the film "Pray For The Wildcats."

Also check his work in Murder in Coweta County with Johnny Cash. There was a period where, like Alan Alda, he was taking a lot of villainous roles to distance himself from Sheriff Andy Taylor.

Andy Griffith playing in LBJ character was absolutely perfect there are stories that LBJ used to talk to a staff from the bathroom like they did here in the opening scene Cliff Robertson reminds you of a CIA spy Andy Griffith is right about politics in Washington

Wasn't Robertson in another scathing "behind the scenes" political film, Gore Vidal's The Best Man?

The 3 TV's is how LBJ watched the news at the sametime
