Great photos and comments mate, really enjoyed the video. Any tips for metering on the underground?
@PhotoCinematica4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much James! Underground can be tricky but obviously easier the higher ISO your film. I usually meter using the next lightest area to the darkest shadow and then base it off that. So I know the shadows will retain some detail but you’ll still get more contrast than if you metered at the darkest point
@iamesneal4 жыл бұрын
@@PhotoCinematica thanks for the advice! I’ll try a roll this weekend and see how it goes. I usually expose for the shadows but I know it’s not necessary in black shadows

Tbh I was expecting some more substance about the film itself but 800t is so popular now that maybe it doesn't need explaining. I was curious about the filter as manufacturer recomends for shooting in daylight and I do prefer (juding by your shots) with filter on. Personally the halation is the primary reason why I have one roll loaded in my fm2 right now :) Oh and really great cinematic fills, sets a tone right!

@@PhotoCinematica What did you find yourself metering for (highlights, shadows or midtones) in order to avoid underexposure?

Jeez that film misses its remjet layer. 500T would be a better bet. Silbesaltz recommend overexposing Vision 3 500T by a stop - so shoot at 250 and developing in ECN2. The film handles overexposure well and has a huge exposure latitude. I have not heard good things about pushing it. Not sure what push/pull options Silbesaltz offer but they do do a bleach bypass option.
