Great photos and comments mate, really enjoyed the video. Any tips for metering on the underground?
@PhotoCinematica
@PhotoCinematica 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much James! Underground can be tricky but obviously easier the higher ISO your film. I usually meter using the next lightest area to the darkest shadow and then base it off that. So I know the shadows will retain some detail but you’ll still get more contrast than if you metered at the darkest point

Tbh I was expecting some more substance about the film itself but 800t is so popular now that maybe it doesn't need explaining. I was curious about the filter as manufacturer recomends for shooting in daylight and I do prefer (juding by your shots) with filter on. Personally the halation is the primary reason why I have one roll loaded in my fm2 right now :) Oh and really great cinematic fills, sets a tone right!

Jeez that film misses its remjet layer. 500T would be a better bet. Silbesaltz recommend overexposing Vision 3 500T by a stop - so shoot at 250 and developing in ECN2. The film handles overexposure well and has a huge exposure latitude. I have not heard good things about pushing it. Not sure what push/pull options Silbesaltz offer but they do do a bleach bypass option.

It’s a mixture but cinematic (that’s a given) and ambient, electronic etc. Once you find an artist you like, see who MB say are related to them

Orange filters come in different strengths. The 85b or standard 85 filter names just refer to how strong the orange is. I always heard 85b was the best but I’ve used a 85 and the difference was minor for me

As demonstrated in the vid - it’s an orange filter that changes the colour of the image coming into the lens. Cinestill has a blue tone to it when shooting in daylight so the orange filter balances it out to look natural 👍🏼

Love your aesthetic, but please get a stabaliser. A ronin or something. The warp stabalisation is making me sick. Or set the warp stabalisation between 1%-5% mostly that gives a great result without warping too much.
