I've owned Cinestrings ever since its release, but because of computer limitations, I haven't been able to use anywhere near all of it. That being said, I'm really looking forward to this! This is pretty much everything I've wanted from you guys -- it sounds great and it won't kill my laptop.

The Advanced Controls section would be great if it was a set of sliders with upper and lower thresholds displaying the selected range, and then color code each instrument on the keys and have the keys fade from one color into the next. You would be able to very easily see the overlapping ranges of each instrument directly on the keyboard and know what instruments you are getting.

This is too expensive at $400 for only six ensembles, particularly with the full Symphobia 1 or 2 costing only twice that now. Quality is very high, though, particularly in the strings.

could someone take pity on me and explain how you physically connect the midi keyboard and his Peavey 1600x to the Imac so you can adjust the velocity after the piece has been recorded. Old noob cannot visualize how to do this. I need a Millennial to help me out.

Love this sample library! What piece of hardware sits in front of the keyboard w/ the faders on it? Can't see a brand on it but would love to add that to my studio.

Dylan, that is a MIDI Control Surface. Basically it is a MIDI device that consists only faders and knobs used for live performances. This specific one is the Peavey PC 1600X. It is no longer made, but I'm sure it could be found on EBay.

Hey everyone, just a quick question : What kind of keyboard do you need to use CineSamples ? Do you need a MIDI keybaord connected to an audio interface, or something else ? Do you have any advice about buying a keyboard, or do you have any specific keyboard (between 200$/300$) that you'd recommend to me ?

Half human, half potato Midi keyboards come with a USB cable these days. So any keyboard is fine, just look for a good quality one. And preferably with 61 or 88 keys.

How is Cinesymphony any less than buying seperate instrument packs? Not as many samples? Why would I spend $1000s on seperate packs when i can spend a fraction of that for this?

***** If they could spring $200-$300, I'd be more than willing to purchase (keep in mind that it's 6 patches and 2GB of content, so that seems about right). CineOrch's $100, though, and it's an outright ensemble, so I can't see CineSymphony dipping down that low (although I'd melt if it did).
