I'm an animation student and in my opinion, they aren't necessarily to be called 'copies', because technically and physically, they look more like references than copies. You know that references are everywhere, right? Even our own experience can be a reference.

Cars and Planes franchise took a lots of inspiration from "ONE CAB'S FAMILY, 1952" and "LITTLE JOHNNY JET, 1953" specially the scenes where each of the baby pushes their father to safety. The baby hot rod from one cab's family was a spitting image of a baby lightning McQueen. I only saw one cab's family and little Johnny jet once as a baby and was literally obsessed with those two shorts for all my life.

The Inside Out one is nothing new, including the 2013 one in terms of idea or concept. We have the Beano Comics. The Numskulls, they are called. Toy Story 2’s references to Star Wars were on purpose, I think. And then Disney went ahead and bought Lucasfilm, ironically. Zootopia’s nod to the Godfather is on purpose too. Heck, that Weasel sold pirated copies of Disney movies in the form of anthropomorphic animals. Duke Weaselton who is also a nod to Duke of Weselton from Frozen. Yes, I do remember Susie when I saw Cars. I only made that connection back in 2023, I think. Simba and Kimba. Simba is actually an actual word in Swahili which means Lion. Kimba’s original Japanese name is “Reo” while his dub names are Kimba and Leo. Originally dubbed Leo, the name was changed because that is also the same name as the MGM lion. Thus, Kimba came about. Interestingly, I found this information: In the 1964 Disneyland comics & Leo the Lion Cub (manga), Kimba's shown to have a colored mane throughout his young age, colored a rustic orange instead of the standard white. Ah, the meat punching. Well, what Ratatouille made me think of is this film in 1997. “Mouse Hunt” where at the end, a mouse is made a chef. Whereas Auguste Gusteau died of a broken heart because of his restaurant losing a star, Ernie’s restaurant was shut down in Mouse Hunt because of a cockroach which crawled into a dish for the mayor, causing the mayor to suffer a fatal heart attack. Not exactly the same but there’s a few elements there.

I don’t think the animated short brain divided is a copy of inside out or inside out is a copy of brain divided. The reason why I think this is because there are significant differences between the short and inside out. For one the little tiny things in the short brain divided are not emotions, they are just two different sides of his mind. Second in inside out they make the mind look more creative than just making it look like a brain. While in the short brain divided it is a brain and they don’t really make it that creative. Another difference is in the short brain divided the little things were able to write text on the screen. While in inside out, they do have a screen to look at, but it’s to see what’s happening in the outside world and to see what Riley is looking at. And in inside out they are not able to write text on the screen. Also the inspiration for inside out was Pete Doctors own daughter. Basically Pete doctor noticed his own daughter, became more quiet at some point in her life from her past outgoing self. and he thought what is going on inside her mind. And that created the inspiration for inside out. Btw I googled this information. Also the tiny things in the short look nothing like the Emotions from inside out

Fun fact I know it’s not a cartoon show or movie but there’s a book series called bad kitty nick bruel released his 4th bad kitty chapter book called bad kitty meets the baby released in 2011 4.years before inside out was released but here’s a catch in the 2nd chapter called what the heck is that thing it shows segments that look similar to inside out the that one cartoon in the video the reporter kitty was all joyful and happy kittys emotions in that book is panic hunger and lazy there in kittys head and they referenced it again in bad kitty super cat wich came out in 2022 so it was many years later in that book there’s reason logic instinct wich is exactly the same as panic and emotion wich refrences the emotions in the films whew this took a long time to make this comment
