Yeah Sonny, I should have pointed out where those were in the video. Im sure you know but for any one else... once you remove the valve cover the ports are right in the middle. It really takes less then an hour to put those no flos in. All you need is a socket set and a pair of needle nose pliers. The no flos from Kwick come with the locktite required. Pull off the valve cover, pull out the sleeves that go to the pair system that you blocked off with block off plates and put those plugs with the added locktite in the holes. Let it sit for a bit and then put the cover back on and the rest back together and your done.

Great video. I have a 98 ZX7R that I have been fixing and putting back together and have been dreading the valves because I have never done an adjustment before. This video make it look achievable and not even that bad. Keep up the good work. I'm actually playing with the idea of getting a ZRX and cafe-ing it out as a project, looks like a fun great bike
@CinKoDel7 жыл бұрын
Its actually easier done then explained. The first time I did one , I read a step by step on how to do it... and it seemed very daunting... however once I finally cracked it open I realized it was a lot more stright forward then it seemed.... once you finally do you it you will see its not quite as big of a task as it seems... good luck man.

@CinKoDel5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And yeah f you meant to clean the bowls then yes. But to clean the jets you're gonna need like a guitar wire or something thin enough to push through it.. I personally have always used a high E string and carb cleaner to mine... it works perfect :)

+CinKo Del Hey again, ya know the two places for hoses on the bottom right side of the gas tank (one in the front "guage, fuel"- part 52005 and one toward the back)? I've got no idea where the other ends of the hoses are supposed to go. Can you please point me in the right direction? My email address is caminla@yahoo.com. If you can help, I'm grateful. I can email you my phone number if it's easier to just give me a quick call. Cheers. -Cameron
@CinKoDel8 жыл бұрын
+caminla You are probably referring to the vent tube, its a run off tube that plugs hangs out (does not plug into anything) and allows water (and or excess gas from an over fill) to flow out. I'm gonna email you now./

where can I get the zx11 cams? and what else do I need to make it run right? thanks
@CinKoDel3 жыл бұрын
I bought mine from a forum member on zrxoa.com you want to raise the rev limiter as well parts are also on the site for that. Lastly, if you raise the limiter you also want to make sure you install double springs for the cams. These are from the ZX11 and can be bought online as well. you will need the inner spring and the inner washer.

Do the valve clearances tend to tighten up or open up with time and miles.
@CinKoDel8 жыл бұрын
The valves are set on springs which can lose their elasticity over time, similar to how a bed spring can wear out and sink down. Which would imply that as the springs get "weaker" they press less hard against the rocker arms and thus cause the gap to get bigger. This is generally what happens... The thing is that since there are shims on both the exhaust and intake side, some wear "in" can be countermeasure by wear "out" on the other side, do to one side being up while the other is down. So some shims fit looser, while still other shims fit snugger over time. However, the majority of shims that get out of clearance need to be up'ed to a bigger size (meaning the gap got bigger)... BUT, this is not ALL the shims all the time. It really depends on how they wear, a lot of times they might not need to be adjusted at all. Though if you are replacing your cams with different cams, you will almost certainly need to replace all of them.
@ginnroad8 жыл бұрын
Ok, thanks, my 2000 ZRX1100 just past 42000 miles. i just installed a Black Widow Exhaust and used by old Kerker can that lost 4 inches a few years ago. The new headers really woke up the old bike. Want to do ivan's jet kit and air box mod next. That's when i will check the valve clearance, your video will come in handy for that, thanks. zrx
@CinKoDel8 жыл бұрын
Yes, you wont even get the full effect of the exhaust upgrade untill you swap the jets. Ivans is a good kit, and pods make carb accessibility so much easier. Sounds like some good upgrades coming, Good luck!

Are you asking about the ZRX1100 or the ZRX1200? Here is a link to the pdfs for the owner manuals. Both bikes are in here and it lists the torque down required for all spec'ed bolts. www.zrxoa.org/forums/showthread.php?333737-Service-Manuals-downloads-2017&p=4695130#post4695130
