Very interesting and there wasn’t very much traffic. You beat the crowds! Great job capturing all that footage. Lots of batteries were used in this adventure. At least you had the trail to yourself compared to the crowds that are up there now. Thanks for sharing!😀👍

When you were on the switchbacks why were you using 3 point turns? I ask because we’re transiting through that area in a few days with Jeeps pulling overland style trailers (same size as the Jeeps) and would appreciate an honest assessment of the topography. All of those corners looked plenty wide enough. I appreciate the input.

There are some deep ruts and holes on some of the corners and honestly I just drove a little sloppy but with a spotter I’m sure the trailers won’t be a problem at least on the lake city side of the pass. Not certain on the other side, as I have not been over there yet, good luck!

I just picked up a Chevy Colorado ZR2 in March and I'm a total noob at more serious offroading (though I "softroaded" my 2010 AWD V6 RAV4 since I bought it new), and am curious how you think my ZR2 would do on this, and more importantly, how difficult you would rate this for a noob driver. I lived in CO for 20 years (left in 2018 for work) so I'm not afraid of heights, though these narrow shelf roads are new to me in the offroad sense. I've done the paved ones (Trail Ridge, Evans, Million Dollar, etc.) a zillion times on my sportbike but they were 2 lane. Thanks!

There are a few spots you will have to take your time but as long as you come up the lake city side, you should be ok. The views are worth it! I just know the side towards silverton is a bit tougher.

@@RyanTeelAwesome video! How do you feel about Engineer? I heard it was better to go the other way from Ouray to Lake City.We came down for my birthday week or better ago and did Cinnamon to Silverton.Would like to do Engineer next year.

@@jamesapolen9421 haven’t gotten to drive engineer yet! Definitely looking forward to driving the entire loop this summer. Engineer is slightly more difficult but the entire Alpine loop is my goal, when I filmed this only cinnamon pass was open.
