I've got a theory that she may have an addiction problem. I was too and that phone call was the tip of the ice berg. Now, all of Rose's outbursts and talk about him seriously made sense, and I find it sad that she most likely experienced it before and that's why she's able to have confidence and leave him, but Liz was literally taken just right after her previous break-up. Seriously, this even looks like Stockholm syndrome where Liz praises Ed for one basic nice thing because it's one of the only positive thing she's gotten so far, and feels that she should be committed because of that achievement as a reward to him. I also can't deny that television is probably pressuring her to continue this despite all odds, not because of the money but because people will be disappointed. Money could always be a reason but in her case, it really looks like it's not the major reason at all.

All I know is that the effects laying on Liz and the format in that syndrome have parallels, though the only reason it has parallels is because both cases have abusers and manipulators. So while Ed didn't kidnap Liz, he was definitely showing kindness just to justify his awful actions, and to Liz these awful actions should be something to bare since simply because she saw kindness, she'll hang onto that. Also, I want to ask, isn't Stockholm syndrome a cope or psychological response from a victim, either to a captor or abuser? I can figure out as much. The red flags were everywhere, like how supportive Ed's supports were in encouraging him talking to Liz after stalking her during her shifts. How they belittled her rights when she was dating Ed. How Ed *demanded* her to "sort her priorities" when she clearly has a very young daughter. Not to mention that he pressured her to move in with him under the reason of him having "detachment anxiety" whatsoever. And now, we found out he used that to 'punish' her everytime she has a say in their arguments, by kicking her out everytime she is not 'behaving'. And then blaming her for his own uncontrollable "anxiety". At this point, Liz looked very dumb for defending him, even after knowing how harsh he s towards her.
