the riffwork in this album is soo god damn simple but works soo well. I just don't understand how someone could write this stuff and know it's going to work out to be as perfect as it is without feeling simple or cliche. Circa are without a doubt some amazing songwriters. knowing how to capture a sound and direction like this is a true gift, I've been fascinated with this album on and off for ten years... there's just something special about it

I wouldn't call it simple per say. There's really no rhythm guitar, just two lead parts kind of weaving around each other and meandering to create atmosphere and interesting dynamics and stuff. The magic is the interplay between the two guitars, not just a straightforward riff oriented type thing. It creates a very fluid, dream-like, loose type of sound that I really enjoy and think compliments Anthony's voice. It seems like only this album really has it tho. I found their later albums much less interesting. But you know, you can't make the same album over and over and artist change over time etc.

Hahaha "simple" lemme tell ya, when you try learning this song by ear its pretty friggin complex to understand, with other bands its much easier but the way these 2 guitars bleed into eachother can be tricky to figure out
