Circle Centre Mall is a mall in downtown Indy that was open in 1995. Like a lot of mall in America, it can be struggling. Although no more anchor stores exist, there is still a lot of interesting stores left. Also the Arts Garden. Simon Group Property has recently sold their share of the mall in the past month. The future of the mall may have a similar fate as Lafayette Square Mall.

What an incredible mall, it is a shame that it is dying a slow death in a nice area of Indianapolis. Great video man and I am a new sub!

I remember when it opened up and we started going here instead of Lafayette Square. This place was jam packed all year round! I worked at the Abercrombie @ 6:30 two different times in the early 2000s and took a few dates to the expensive theater upstairs. I got tired of paying the 20$ event parking cost even when there was no events! This was an issue if you worked there as well. Crime has played a big part in the decline of this mall and its future isn't looking very bright. Hate to see such a unique place die off.

I went to this mall in 1995, shortly after it opened, I was absolutely amazed! The arcade was so awesome! It had V.R simulators, cutting edge games...the mall was very popular, but started losing stores a few years ago, they renovated in early 2020, but COVID wiped them out. It's shocking to see a once successful mall fall so hard.

It looks pretty nice for a dead mall. Great video

3:01 That was originally the area for a VR game. It had a stand, railings, the floor rotated and there was a treadmill gimmick so you could "walk around" in the game. The hole is where all the machine stuff was packed down in.

It's been really sad but there was no way to expect the anchors to last when you walk in and the cheapest item of clothing started at $60. I miss when they had the night clubs upstairs. It's still always been a popular place for everyone to go on their lunch breaks.

Yeah, I could see why a lot of them went. Interesting, I didn't know about night clubs being up there. The top floor was an interesting mysterious place! Well glad at least the arcade and movie theater are still operating.

Well done video, a beautiful building sad to see it so empty. The last time i was there the Artsgarden still wasnt connected to the Hyatt/PNC Center which also has a dramatic interior lobby.

There's hardly anyone there. Sad. Back in the '70s, my shopping areas were Glendale, Lafayette Square and Castleton Square.

I'm at the age where I remember the urban malls were going to save the downtown's in the cities. The one in a nearby city was a place to be seen and several large dept. stores and all the usual other stores were there. Now it just dust, blowing in the wind. Even had a full service supermarket. Parking was underground and actually quite nice and convenient. What happened....Big suburban malls got built, dept stores moved, and soon, nothing but urban gangs were mostly left to run the place.

Ever since Covid hit, the mall hasn’t ever been the same since. I remember briefly for the first couple years I started to live here in Indianapolis the mall would be really packed. It hasn’t quite been the same vibe since it’s been reopened in May 2020

Goodness this is nearly almost a ghost mall. I swear, on the southern side of the mall, i didn't hardly see anybody. Sad.

Sadly, most shopping malls sold very little of what people actually needed. They did sell clothes, but, if I was looking for a particular item, size, color; it was sheer luck if I was able to purchase the exact item I wanted. Usually returned home with a disappointing substitute. I have been doing 90% of my shopping online, since 2003-4. I attempted a little in-person shopping @ Tanger Mall last winter, but, just wasted my time. Returned home & ordered what I wanted online. 3 days later, UPS delivers to my front door. I even order groceries & household items online, usually with curb-side pick up; or home delivery. 🤷‍♀️

I still have my FAO Swarts keychain. FAO was such a big deal for that mall. I remember one lady in customer service for that mall. So stuck up. So rude. Wonder if she’s at a Walmart now.

Man I remember visiting this mall back in like 2012 when it was thriving. I went again recently and noticed that it looked to be on the decline but i never expected it to be this bad. Might need to make a visit here again sometime soon

Back in 2012 in Toledo much of the malls I grew up in were getting demolished. If this was good a decade ago it still has a chance to keep going.

it's just terrible to see it like this i remember that commercial i had gone there when it had first opened up. I had never gone to that nightclub. The arcade there used to be called the sega gameworks arcade and you used to be able to go up to a desk that used to be at the entrance to it that's long since gone. That arcade had kind of gone downhill then they fixed it up and renamed it but it was really just putting a band aid on an already open wound. I wish i could go back to 1995 ah those were the days.

Often wonder who owns all those lounge chairs, kiddy rides, gumball machines, etc. They are in every mall and you seldom see them used anymore. Someone must of invested a lot of dollars buying them with dollar signs in their eyes.

i had also taken a picture in there of the rainwater beading on the window one time and a security guard gave me a funny look but didn't say anything it was too good of a picture to not take it. Irregardless of it being against the policy there to photograph in there i did it anyway. That had to have been 1997 i think. I had used a disposable camera.

Put in a casino. It's legal and the characters downtown at night can't get any gd worse. Unfortunately, many city development plans have fled back into Indy's suburbs along with much Indy's monied young people. But I still think the intricate and grandiose series of tunnels which connect the Mall to every other hotel/convention center/statehouse/and nearby restaurants and IRT is just too valuable, investors will return.

This was a bad idea to begin with. There were plenty of malls in Indy already at the time, and people were showing less interest in malls generally. But planners gotta plan.

That is, hands down the biggest TILT arcade I have ever seen. It also looks like it hasn't changed much since its 1995 opening.. There's some really pretty architecture in that mall. Definitely could use some cosmetic updates to bring it into the 21st century, though.
