Amen Mike. FU$#......I was getting so pumped on CATS. I listened to a Relix interview with Neal and he seemed like such a genuinely good dude which seemed evident by how many amazing musicians welcomed him into their orbit. Peace Neal, you were a ray of sunshine in our souls and how i wish you could have found your own rays of sunshine to pierce through those dark clouds of despair.

Same here, Sad and Happy moment! Discover a great jam band and then honor a great guitarist! RIP Neal!
Man this was a group I was very excited about, for a minute we had Circles, Phil's terrapin bands, Dead and Co, Golden Gate Wingmen, JRAD, VoodooDead and LiveDead69 all touring/playing shows. Almost every night was a musical extravaganza! And thats just the dead related bands, phish, yonder, Jeff Austin were all going on as well then. R.i.p Robert Hunter, Buddy Cage, Neal Casal, Buddy Cage, Gloria Jones and so many more that have recently passed.

saw them in Austin last night 4/27. AWESOME show. trying to decide if they're Steely Dan with more creativity or Grateful Dead with more discipline. the real answer is neither or both. because they're incredibly unique live. one of the best concert I've ever seen.

This reminds me of one of my top 10 shows ever....and like most of you, that's over many blessed years of shows seeing live music...it was CATS at Zoetropolis in Lancaster PA, perhaps in 6/2019?... intimate venue, 300 capacity maybe ...owner Matt Hostetter (who rages with his own bands) happened to cross paths with Neal as Neal was on the road and looking for a local recording studio ...anyhow... that night, every musician, Adam esp!, Dan, Mark, and Neal were incredibily ON and engrained an orbit that remains in my memory. Again, one of the most mind blowing, body shaking shows ever. Would love to see video or hear that show again, anyone have anything?? We were do busy losing our minds to record anything. Anyhow, love them CATS and see them everytime they're within a few hours drive but sure do miss our brother Neal...RIP.

so, I'm watching this and wondered about the bass player who looked a whole lot like the bass player in Grateful Shred and low and behold, one and the same. Dan Horne. The Jack Casady type sunglasses were the give away. I fell for this band while listening in on the first Fare Thee Well show and in time learned that Neal is from the town I live in. It was months before I learned of his death. I only learned just now about his suicide. Tragic loss for he, his family and loved ones, and us.

Tight sweet jams. Darn it Neal. I literally discovered these guys yesterday after listening to Goose play a bunch (Mr. KZbin recommended CATS) after listening to a whole set I was so pumped to check them out more and jam along. So I jump in and what's the 1st thing I read. R.I.P. Neal. Never got to meet you, but have a feeling I'll learn a lot through what you left behind in music man. And I totally get it. Can be tough. If we only we could play music and get lost in it 24 hours a day. Problem is we can't And reality creeps in pretty quick after your last song jamming with the boys. That ride home is such a mix of emotions.
