Thank you for this awesome tutorial! I saw it some days ago however i couldn't find it today. Maybe you should try some more tags like HC-SR04 or distance sensor,if you haven't already. Very nice, educating and easy to follow! I saw some interesting improvements if instead of the notebook, you had moved a square box of some sort in front along the ruler. Also if had aligned or measured the number of centimeters to the facing wall some whatever 2-3 meters away for longer distance? ;-)

Thank you for the tutorial for the ultrasonic range finder however i have been stuck on a problem while trying to connect the lcd display to the circuit . I have followed the hardware and software exactly the way it is shown and the lcd does light up and it shows 16 little boxes but it doesn`t display anything on them so if you could help me out it would be great.

Hi, maybe the notebook isn't the most relaible obstacle: it's not rigid, so the distance measured is variable depending on the movement in your hands. :)

I had that same problem and what I found out was that my trig and echo pins were in A10 and A13. I just switched them from the analog to the regular 10 and 13 slots
