What do you get when you take two theatrical lead vocalists, a keyboard player from Juilliard, a jazz-rock genius on guitar, a bass player from another galaxy, and a drummer with progressive rock in his DNA? The new modern ProgRock band Circuline.
Circuline's newest release, "Counterpoint", features an All-Star lineup of SEVEN guest guitarists: Randy McStine (The Fringe, Lo-Fi Resistance); Doug Ott (Enchant); Alek Darson (Fright Pig, Meridian Voice Project); Ryche Chlanda (Fireballet, Renaissance, Flying Dreams); Alan Shikoh (Glass Hammer); Matt Dorsey (Sound of Contact, Dave Kerzner); and Stanley Whitaker (Happy the Man, Oblivion Sun). The compositional team of Colyer/Brannon returned for this second album, partnered with the songwriting of McStine, and the vocal arrangements of Spillane/Brown/Colyer. Immediately, the album started garnering praise and new fans.
Performing original cinematic progressive rock, Circuline was founded in 2014 when former progressive rock tribute band Downing Grey members Andrew Colyer (keyboards, vocals), Bill Shannon (guitars, vocals), and Darin Brannon (drums, percussion) had a burning desire to write original material. Lead vocalists Billy Spillane and Natalie Brown were up for the challenge, having performed in countless venues as singers, actors, dancers, and rock musicians. New guitarist Beledo (as of January 2016) brings a whole new dimension to the band's compositions and live performances.
Circuline’s debut album, "Return" (released Spring 2015), featured Guest Artists Matt Dorsey (Sound of Contact) on bass, Randy McStine (Lo-Fi Resistance) as a songwriter and vocalist, and Joe Deninzon (Stratospheerius) on electric violin. Paul Ranieri (Shadow Eden, Mark Wood Rock Orchestra) joined the lineup as touring bassist in late 2014, and joined the band for their second album starting in summer 2015.

Ok, new fan here. I saw your 'Free CD' teaser on FB a few times and--without even a listen--decided to take the plunge. I got the free one AND the debut. Then, I came to KZbin and checked "Summit". I'm glad I took the plunge. Your music made me smile a genuine smile which, from me, is a lot. As a big set, prog rock drummer (RUSH cover band), I have a couple of questions. Darin, I read your bio on the band's page and love that you've got such a prog DNA. You may get this question a lot, but I'm new, so I feel compelled to ask: any RUSH flowing through your veins? I didn't see any mention of them in your bio, so I'm curious. I have my theories, but I'll let you answer, if you're of a mind. That said, I love your playing. You strike a perfect balance of showing what you've got and playing for the song. I suspect you've got a lot more, so I can't wait for the CDs to arrive! Last thing: in this video, your right-tom mic is angled away from the tom, but the left one isn't. Was that intentional, or accidental? Thanks again and looking forward to hearing more!

He is a lovely gent, and the venue was fabulous! Every time I see this vid, though, I want to kick myself for wearing my glasses😄but, we had just gotten off the plane and headed to the venue and I was SOOOO sick for that show! This is wonderful! :) I love the way that you all trade off vocal duties and the harmonies work really well. The drums are big sounding but subtle in the right places. That keyboard section sounds so mystical.
