This short story is very touching and as a book fan of Sapkowski's works, I really liked that they put a song about it on the series. The heartbreaking ending of the story has a powerful effect, and there is a fact that, Ciri read a book about Essi Daven without knowing she was the former love interest of his father (Geralt), and she will never know later as well. This song is about a mermaid (Sh'eenaz) and a prince fell in love, in Sword of Destiny, Geralt met and tasked by this prince, then talk to the mermaid the prince falls in love with. Also soon after that, Geralt met a female singer (who is Jaskier's friend) named Essi Daven. I don't want to spoil anything, I assume in the series Jaskier has mentioned to Ciri about their journey and prince's love Sh'eenaz.
The upcoming anime of The Witcher, Sirens of the Deep is about Geralt, Jaskier and Essi Daven's adventure around this time when they met with the prince. Looking forward for it.
