Hey Alex, love your stuff! Some great flying adventures. We sure do love the airstrips here in Utah! Not sure if you were aware, but Mexican Mountain is a Wilderness Study Area where, oddly enough, any motorized vehicles are not permitted (drones). Mexican Mountain is often scrutinized by those that want to shut it down, and we have to be extra careful with this airstrip to not violate these guidelines so as not to lose the privilege of accessing it. Happy to chat more about it as well if you want to PM me. Thanks!

Also, one thing that helps justify these airstrips staying open are people filling out visit or condition reports at www.utahbackcountrypilots.org. By logging visits here, the UBCP can work with country officials to help support these airstrips. Anyone visiting these Utah airstrips, please fill them out, and also consider becoming a member of the UBCP to help support!

great video, what gas did you use - regular 87 ?
@AlexDiSessa4 жыл бұрын
91
@randyvanvliet2264 жыл бұрын
If you run a Rotax 912 UL 80 hp, you can run 87, if you run the newer version, the Rotax 912 ULS with high compression and 100 HP, you run 91 or better, all the time.
@wdwerker4 жыл бұрын
I was wondering bout auto gas being used in a plane. Several articles mentioned an “ STC “ is that paperwork that says you can use certain fuels and still be legal ? I know water in fuel is a big concern in aviation. I read you got 93 octane, is that ethanol free ?
@AlexDiSessa4 жыл бұрын
This is a Rotax engine and it can take 91 octane type fuel without any issues
